Sad Ohio vs Louisiana
Just curious how our friends in the MAC feel about this game, this may seem a little cocky but I wish this game happened a little more often just by the name of the match up, “Ohio vs Louisiana”.

RE: Ohio vs Louisiana
frankly, I am quite worried about this game, mainly because of your team's offensive firepower. but also you lost to Mississippi State by only 10 and you beat the team that whipped Buffalo last week.

I know it's only a non-conference game, but we need to get ourselves going since we start MAC play in a couple of weeks. I hope we win but i'm not at all confident we will.

Ohio by 3.
This game sounds like a Camelia or Mobil Bowl match up. Athens is an awesome place to play. If this is a top 2 MAC team, they have to win this game. IMO Miami is a sleeper for MAC East title contender. Toledo needs to beat CSU as well.

I’m also worried about this came, out biggest problem is turn overs and simple mistakes. We had 4 turn overs against Miss State, and a fumble on liberty’s 10 a TD called back and 3 missed field goals. It’ll be a good test against our first good G5 team.

No, this is big. This is why 3rd-5th week gets me going!

Can Solich make his team punch them in the Face??

Or will they just hang in there, and die out?

My prediction? Ohio's QB is GOOD. Regardless, he's not going without a fight!

I thought OU was the flagship of the MAC. What a joke this conference has been last several years...

I think you're getting bad information. When was Ohio "the flagship of the MAC"? The last time they won the championship?

he means as in the entire university being the flagship of the MAC, which is of course true! ;-) maybe not so far in football this year, but hey, starting on October 5, we're still 0-0. that's all that matters.

“Flagship of the state system” was Kit Kat et al’s mantra for years on here. He based that, I assume, on it’s status as oldest state university.

I don't know if we could be called a flagship of the MAC, but Ohio does have the credentials of being the one of the original five founding members. The other four are no longer in the MAC so that makes Ohio the only remaining original member in the conference. Miami and Western Michigan joined one year after when Ohio did in 1946.

We can't say we are dominating the conference in football until we start stringing together some MAC championships, but we have been one of the winningest programs in MAC football. We have a bye next week so hopefully we can right the flagship before we enter MAC play. 03-wink
