RE: 2019 MAC Football Pick 'Em -- Week 4
Bold is Winning The Game; Underline is beating the spread.
Western Michigan vs Syracuse -5.5
*This is a game WMU can win without anyone being shocked. Syracuse is Not in an immediate rebound position. They got shelacked by Maryland embarassingly, then got bent over and whipped by Clemson, who they almost beat last year and DID beat the year before. So any 'rivalry' thoughts went down the tubes there. Babers is a great coach for The 'Cuse. If WMU's seemingly improved D doesn't show up still improved, The 'Cuse has No Excuse not to win. I wouldn't bet on this game, but I personally will. As I'd pay $200 to see WMU be in a barn-burner. But I think Babers is going to have Syracuse, in their Dome, hot as hell, step up for this opportunity. Syracuse scores a lot, us WMU fans complain about our D hopes up too high, but WMU doesn't score enough to win it. Syracuse wins by 10-14 pts.
Louisiana-Laf @ Ohio -3
*I hope I'm wrong. Louisiana has an Offense. They scored 35 on Liberty (won by 21), 28 on Miss-State (lost by 10), and crushed Texas-So FCS by scoring 77pts. Ohio doesn't have a Rock solid D. Ohio can win this of course. It's at home + Solich will have his team shore things up as the season rolls on, but if I had to predict? I'd say Louisiana wins by a TD. Too much O for Oh-Hio to catch up to, in a pretty high scoring affair.
Troy -18 @ Akron
*Troy lost in a shoot-out against Southern Miss, and is 1-1 (whipped an FCS too). Akron, well, isn't doing so hot. At all. Things start falling apart in confidence. Troy wins by 20-24 pts, as they take their angst out on the Kangaroos.
Central Conn @ Eastern Michigan
*EMU riding high off their 3rd straight B1G win. Thankfully it's not a tough opponent they're playing where they're the slight favorite. Otherwise they'd lose, riding off a high. Thankfully, it's just an FCS. The MAC don't lose to the FCS.
Miami-OH @ Ohio State -38.5
*Miami-OH doesn't look improved from last season, despite having a good coach. Ohio State tears into teams like they'd win the SEC outright. However, Miami's up for the task. They're going to step up. To beat the spread anyway. Ohio State is kept under 50, while Miami puts some points on the board. Buckeyes win by 35.
Temple -14 @ Buffalo
*Ass-crack-showing Rod Carey is now with Temple. Temple surprisingly beat Maryland and now is on the road to Buffalo. I don't think Temple's going to win the AAC, nor their division. Good team to take over, and Carey's going to keep them afloat. However, Buffalo has been Unimpressive the last two games -- getting smoked by Penn State after putting up a 1st half fight, then getting rocked by Liberty. Buffalo helps make up for their Liberty debacle -- and Temple doesn't do so hot against MAC teams after leaving... but Rod Carey knows how to beat other MAC teams. Temple wins by 17.
Bowling Green @ Kent State -11
*Battle for 3rd to last place in the MAC East. Who's going to be the team hovering just above Akron? The team that loses this game. It'll be a barn-burner. BGSU sees a rare opportunity here, but will fall short. Kent State by 7-10.
Central Michigan @ Miami-FL -29.5
*Fire up Chips? CMU will rise to the occasion and give Miami-FL a fight. I'm betting on this one. Miami-FL holds off CMU and their good coach. But CMU makes a statement that they're not just better than Akron this year -- they're going to help decide who gets to the MAC Title game and who doesn't. Miami-FL wins by 17 in the end.
Ball State @ NC State -19
*There's a reason this spread is under 3 TDs. NC State doesn't look so hot this season, losing to West Virginia badly, where W Virginia got pummeled by Missouri by 31. Testicle Tech is better than last year -- and they show it. However, NC State keeps them at bay as NC State wants to utilize this game to improve. Turns out a bit harder than they anticipated though. NC State pulls out, winning by 17.
Toledo -9 @ Colorado State
*Toledo already had a bye, thus tougher to calculate. Toledo IS tough. If they had their starter in the whole game, they could have maybe beat Kentucky. Kentucky should have beat Florida. That said, Colorado State isn't looking too hot, but their O is. This is going to be a SHOOT OUT. The lack of oxygen will help Colorado State too, but Toledo will eek it out by a last minute FG, which is also helped out by the lack of oxygen.
