Someone suggested awhile back that if a player stops play, whether for a real or unreal injury, it should be treated like a serious injury. The cart has to come out, the player has to get on the cart and be taken to the locker room, and he can't return to the field until the start of the next quarter.
That would take care of this buffoonery!
yeah. what ever they do- they need to do something....

Navy-still has Notre Dame left
SMU- just beat TCU
Memphis- beat Ole Miss
If one of them wins out, going to be tough to see them not get the spot.
Don't get why people are missing the Dark Horse App State. Upsetting UNC at Chapel Hill and could have a chance to do the same later this year at South Carolina. I agree Boise is in the driver's seat at the moment.
Boise really isn't though. Not with SMU having this win over TCU and being in a stronger division.
App State's problem is they need everyone to have at least 1 loss, if not worse. They aren't getting in over an undefeated Boise/SMU/Navy/Memphis.
Never said they would go over those teams if they finished undefeated. However, I think you wrong about an undefeated App State not getting in over a single loss other G5.
The Sun Belt though is so bad... only 9-16 vs other FBS teams. with App St having 2 of those 9 wins.
That is irrelevant as WMU has shown precedence by getting in from a terribad MAC. If App beats South Carolina and goes undefeated, it’s there’s to have.

The MAC that season was 14-21 vs FBS opponents. So .400 to only .360 for the SBC(with the SBC having several ooc games left this year).
Also, the MAC had the fortune that season of going up against-
10-3 Temple
10-3 Western Kentucky
10-3 San Diego St
9-3 Appalachian St
And still they were only 9 spots ahead of Temple. Your conference matters. And the Sun Belt just is not that good. Beating 2 P5 teams that might get lucky and win all of 5-6 games won't help that.

1). Who in the MAC played Temple in 2016? 2). The MAC lost to every other team you mentioned above, and multiple lost to App. In saying that, based on the time of year, you cannot definitively blanket every sunbelt loss right now as bad trash losses. You’ll probably be able to cherry pick 3 or 4 SB losses as well that have 9 or 10 wins. The Sunbelt is right in the middle of the pack in the G5 as it is.

but the AAC west and the MWC Mountain where Memphis, Navy, SMU, and Boise are both considerably ahead of the Sun Belt East, where App St is. Looking at Sagarin going into today-
AAC West 71.37 (AAC East 64.05)
MWC Mountain 68.31 (MWC Pacific 61.35)
MAC West 62.05 (MAC East 56.46)
SBC East 61.40 (SBC West 58.73)
CUSA East 57.13 (CUSA West 56.51)
And while the AAC/MWC have to play 3 teams in the other division, App St has to play 4 teams from the weaker division.
The SBC divisions are 5 and 7. So yeah, in the middle of the pack of the G5, but considerably behind the AAC and MWC.
It's not going to happen, but after watching the Big 10's worst defense (Illinois) finally capitulate to Nebraska, 42-38, I had this crazy thought about the Illini firing Lovie Smith at season's end, and hiring Jim Harbaugh after Michigan cans him following another Ohio State loss. 7, 8, or 9 wins won't cut it in Ann Arbor, but it would be perfectly acceptable in Champaign-Urbana!
