Sounds like education is important to him. He has already visited Yale and will make an official visit to Penn this week.

RE: 2020 Hoops recruiting
From what I've been reading he got serious about his weight this year. He lost 44 pounds and by the time of the Adidas tournament in late July he was playing great and the offers started pouring in. He's deninitely not 265 judging by highlights from that tournament. I love guys with a year of prep school experience, too

I agree he didn’t look that big at all.

This is a really nice get for us. A big who has the ability to pass the ball and take up space in the paint with a nice touch. Good hands too unlike Green at times.

RE: 2020 Hoops recruiting
Wiz, what is our next priority? I think that it is a big two guard who can shoot and play defense to complement Tyson. (Maybe we already have that guy in this year's freshman class.)

Vito Cubrilo is that guy ...

RE: 2020 Hoops recruiting
Now let's see if we land the Dallas forward Laczkowski, who's visiting NU later this month.

It's down to Penn, Rice and NU ...

Good time for him to visit...when the 100th basketball party is scheduled. Hope the weather is good for the boat ride.
Hutson's stock must be rising fast. He's taking an official visit at Northwestern.

RE: 2020 Hoops recruiting
After landing Andre Weir earlier this month, NU got a verbal commitment from 6-8, 200 Forward Coleman Stucke from Canada.

Interesting because they are supposed to have another forward in Andrew Laczkowski visit this weekend.

Had offers from Denver, Drake, High Point, Tulane, South Alabama.
Strong interest from Oklahoma State, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Princeton, Harvard, Providence, Davidson according to him.

He can really shoot the rock.

RE: 2020 Hoops recruiting
From North Pole Hoops website on Stucke ...

Keep the alert button for sleepers on. Coleman Stucke is another one.

Toughness was a word that kept coming about when referring to Stucke in college coaches chats.

After being out for a while in the spring with a sprained ankle and for a bit of the summer was coming back from a thumb surgery,
it was as if he hadn’t taken a day off.

Stucke’s outside shooting is right on the money and perhaps that’s kept his stock high.
High enough for Wisconsin, Purdue, Colorado and others to stay in the loop and continue to show strong interest.
The IVY League is equally as interested since he has a high academic standing as well.

At the wing position, Stucke was a top 5 prospect in this camp. Being as strong as he is physically allows him to have an inside
and outside game, that’s where the most intrigue lies.

RE: 2020 Hoops recruiting
Nice write up by Justin Young of Hoop Seen about the Hoop Exchange Fall Festival in Orlando.

Specifically about Andre Weir ...

Andre Weir, Chaminade: Northeastern is one of the best programs when it comes to finding out of area talent, developing them into players and leaning on said players to a big year. Bill Coen and staff have found another gem in the big man. Weir was a standout for Team Florida on the travel circuit and worked hard to get himself into better shape. As that evocation continues, so does his overall game. Northeastern should reap the benefits of his dedication. Weir is one of the best homegrown big men in Florida and showed why he is primed for such a great senior season at Chaminade.

If you looked down on that Hoop Seen story link, you'll see a YouTube clip of AJ Staton a 6-5 shooting guard from Pompano Beach, FL.

He told Hoop Seen that's he's visiting NU. He already visited Illinois State.

Staton also has offers from App State, De Paul, and UMKC. Florida and St. John's are also talking to him.

Interview ...

If we ever got this kid to come to NU and put him in the backcourt with Tyson! Oof!

In 2 years we could have Staton, Walker, Stucke, Weir, and Eboigbodin.

Perfect. He could share rides back and forth down south with Andre!

With DePaul in the picture as of this weekend that lowers our odds but maybe AJ will notice that DePaul brought in three shooting guards this year including three star Romeo Weems.

At least we won't have wait long. He said that he's announcing his decision on Tuesday.

Ignore this. What I saw was AJ retweeting in a friend's announcement.

I thought that was too soon.

I looked all over to see or confirm he said that and didn’t find it. I mean that interview with Hoop Seen was on Friday.

So him making a decision tomorrow would have meant he canceled his visit with us

Yep. This is like the third time I have misread a retweet as a tweet. My bad. Anyway, now his other pursuers have time to tell AJ about DePaul's NCAA sanctions because of
recruiting violations.

And, maybe I'm overestimating DePaul as a destination.

I believe you are.

I mean Chicago is a great city, but DePaul academically isn't at NU's level.

I'm concerned about Florida. And to a lesser extent St. John's because of Mike Anderson's style of play. Illinois State and App State, no fear whatsoever.

I hope the thought of playing with Tyson, a 4-man in Stucke and bigs like Murphy (for one year) Weir and Eboigbodin will entice him. He already said he loves the staff and academics is big for him.

But in my heart, he's somewhat of a longshot ...
