Interesting to see that one-time Tribe target, 6'9" 240 lb soph David Nzekwesi, has entered the transfer portal from Denver. Another Dallas area kid.

Charleston signed a '20 SG a couple of weeks ago not showing on Verbal Commits. Reddish transfer just made room, so, CofC is done. They added a lot of size.

2020 6’4 G Andrew Latiff has committed to The College of Charleston (@CofCBasketball). https://t.co/IHOAV7EJgl

This article says Latiff is a walk-on.

RE: CAA MBB Transfers - 2020
Coach Howland and 6’8 Joshua Ayeni, a grad transfer from South Alabama, are now following each other. Ayeni was a starter for St Bonaventure for two years, transferred to South Alabama and sat out a year, then only appeared in 8 games this year. I see coaches from Radford, FIU, Morehead St, and Chattanooga in his followers list.

I don’t check WMTribeMBB’s instagram account’s followers list very often but I saw that Mikey Henn has recently followed WMTribeMBB. WMTribeMBB is Henn’s most recent follow and I didn’t notice any other schools as recent follows.

Would be a huge loss for them. Has to be at least P5 interest.

CAA MBB Transfers - 2020
The next 3 weeks need to see us sign 2 grad transfers. Good luck to our coaches as they navigate these challenging times!

I'm with bringing in one grad transfer, but if they don't take a chance on Nigel John, then I am missing something (unless he truly doesn't have the grades).

Don't be surprised if we pick another freshman. There are kids who may reclass (back) given uncertainty of the basketball season and prep school. I'll still take a sit one play 2/3/4 if we can find those too. Grad transfers only help if we think we're close to something big this year. I'm in the camp that we're starting from the ground up. If I'm right, we need to keep bringing in young talent that Fischer can mold into his system (whatever that will be without the twin towers). We have 12 players on the roster right now counting Washburn.

One grad transfer is fine with me if we fill the other scholarship in the next 3 weeks with a transfer or freshmen that has the potential to start by their junior year. We are in a new age and 2 grad transfers per year my be closer to the new "normal"

I'll agree with you if we can get kids with two years of eligibility as grad transfers.

Much closer to his home in WA. Henn has predictably unfollowed the WMTribeMBB instagram account but was still following it just a couple days ago and had not followed Portland’s account. Strange.

Hopefully we'll be surprised and land one or two, but Dane did not sound optimistic about our chances last
evening on his Virtual Tribe Talk. He seemed to believe the current crop was not very goog.

Given what he said on the chat, I don't think he likes transfers. Looks like he's building his program from the ground up after a nice year last season. Just remember how much time it took Tony to get his type of kids in a pipeline and how it was improving year over year. Dane is going to need some time. I hope he keeps to his own values and builds up his own type of team.

I agree that we need to give Dane time to build his own brand. Not sure we can ignore transfers in the new world of the portal but time will be the verdict.
