2019-2022 NFL Regular Season
Well...

Someone has to bring it up. Might as well be me. SN08 is probably still recovering from a Jets' 16 pt blown lead late in the 3rd quarter to my Buffalo Bills -- Circle the Wagons boys!!!!!! Josh Allen really had me worried in that first half but showed some poise and improvement in the 2nd half on his way to robbing Gase of his first divisional win. I'm really loving the improvements at WR (John Brown and Cole Beasley), as well as Devin Singletary looks to take clear control of that RB spot following the release of LeSean McCoy.

Week 1 wasn't a let down, unless you're resigned to the fact that the Patriots continue to cheat and likely were involved with Antonio Bryant's odd departure from Oakland without ever playing a snap for them. Something is quite fishy there, and even AB's agent said that AB sought advice from social media guru(s) on how to use it to get out of Oakland. The writing was on the wall as early as a couple months ago with all of his excuses on why he didn't want to go to practice, etc. Now, he's in New England and like Randy Moss... we probably won't hear much out of him outside of the sound of slightly less inflated footballs wizzing through the air in his direction.

We have any Dolphins fans in here? Good Lord they're horrible.

The Steelers... that was embarrassing for a franchise that usually doesn't lay eggs on the national stage like that. The AFC North -- let's talk about them really fast. Everyone off-season crowned the Browns, and as someone who lived in Cleveland for a few years... I didn't understand why. Sure, on paper they look pretty good. However, you're talking about a lot of personalities and guys that if things go bad tend to quit on their team and be a locker room cancer rather than improve it. I'm calling it now. The Browns won't make the playoffs. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens though... they looked smooth. Granted, it was the Dolphins but they looked good. The Browns' offensive line looks horrid, which isn't going to do Mayfield and his receiving corps any favors. The AFC West is good to above average. The AFC East (minus the dolphins) will also compete for playoff spots behind the likely division winner Patriots. That spells doom for whoever doesn't win the AFC North. It's early, but I'm not willing to place any bets on the Browns after that showing, at HOME.

Thoughts?

I'm used to it at this point.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of picking up Ab at all. I really don't like anyone getting rewarded for acting like a child. Sets a bad precedent.

I'm thinking if it goes south with the Patriots, the whole NFL will be done with him.

Let's hope. Problem is, they have a history of being able to rope idiots like him in. It's when he leaves that will be the problem.

Yeah. I agree. He's been oddly silent the last couple days for a guy that was so outlandish regularly for the last couple months. I'm telling you, I think this was in the works for a while. Dude clearly didn't want to play for Oakland. The Steelers got hoodwinked here. They originally didn't want to deal him to a rival Patriots team (who does really), so this was all a big production for him to eventually get to a team he would waltz to a SB appearance with.

This is the kind of annoyance that drives me away from the NFL, as much as I enjoy it. I just feel like the Patriots excel in shady behavior.

I think your homerism is blinding you my friend. In terms of obvious guilt in many areas... guilt that in a court of law you and I wouldn't get away with in an investigation of any sort they get passes.

Yes. They excel in shady behavior. You just don't want to admit it because you like them winning. It's okay, I understand that. I just wish you would admit it.

You call it shady behavior, i call it stretching the rules. I honestly don't think there was any fold play in the Brown situation. If there was they wouldn't have brought in guys like Thomas etc. Honestly, they don't need Brown so i still don't know why they did it. There isn't a fan out there that looks at their teams more objectively than me. I didn't think their D was good enough to win it last year. I don't think the Yankee SP is good enough to win the WS. I'm never blinded by "homer shades". The cheating crap gets tiresome.

That's your cross to bear. They got caught twice and undoubtedly continue to cheat in new and creative ways that just haven't been made public yet. You're gonna have to just learn to deal with it rather than getting all defensive every single time my man. Otherwise you just make it seem like you're experiencing cognitive dissonance.

Your franchise won 6 SB's. Isn't that enough to just laugh it off rather than getting pissy? Just enjoy the wins in your blissful ignorance.

LOL Right, you are smart enough to know the deflated balls BS was just that. We both know you have ZERO ability to look at things objectively when it comes to the Pats. You thought there was shady $hit going on when a man who's made several hundred million and wife has made probably close to a billion signed for a few mil less.

See. this is the EXACT thing I was talking about. You just referenced the deflated balls "BS" as you call it. However, the evidence in and of itself was rather damning. Not to mention the "man" you casually referenced at the end of this post smashed his cell phone to pieces before providing it to investigators.

I'm here to tell you, people who are under investigation and do something like that unless there's something to hide. Additionally, when that does happen (yes, I've seen it in real life)... it goes horridly for the individual that obstructs an investigation in such a way.

So...

I know you don't like admitting it, but that kind of behavior isn't indicative of something you can brush off calling us the crazy ones.

ok, you realize the first half of that game with supposed "deflated balls" the score was 14-10, they found the "issue" at half time and the Pats outscored them 21-0 in the second half. Thank goodness they corrected the issue! Even myth Busters did a show debunking that whole thing. I can tell you for certain if i leave my basketball in the car while at work in the winter , it's flat. Common sense, no? I mean we all learned this in science class in like 7th grade! Every winter, those damn tire sensors go off when it gets cold, damn, someone must be F'in with my tires!

It's not the outcome of that specific game in which they were actually caught that mattered as much. You realize that cheaters aren't always caught on the first time, yeah? You think the first time Belichick taped an opponent's practice was the time he was busted? You think that was the first time they took a little air out of the balls to make it easier on Brady? C'mon man. I know you're not a UNCW grad, but you're not dumb either. I expect better from you.

You also purposefully avoided the obstruction that I intentionally brought up because that was the most relevant to this conversation. It's a laundry list of shady behavior.

The reason we get on you so much is because you casually dismiss it but are always quick to jump on an organization you don't like. It's human nature. I get that, and there's nothing wrong it. Just quit pretending like there's "nothing there" and we're a pair of conspiracy theorist. 03-lmfao

I’ve said a million times the tapping stuff, while other coaches have admitted to doing the same was stupid. Especially to a former assistant. They got their hand slapped paid the price and we all moved on. I’ve owned that. The deflated ball stuff is pure bull$hit man. Sorry.

Now the latest in the Brown saga ex trainer accusing him of rape. Allegedly he has an email proving she was trying to extort/blackmail him.

Sure. I've already begun the paperwork for your temp ban. Won't be a difficult lift.

I agree SO much with 82 Hawk!!!!! If he's not a running threat, he's not good.
