That's not the rule in college. College rule is the ball has to break the plane. The location of the player is irrelevant.

I did not know that. Not that anyone cares but that is an awful rule. That’s like touching a ball that is in bounds when you’re out of bounds.

If you touch a ball while standing out of bounds the ball is dead at that spot. It's a similar thing, the main difference being that the end zone isn't out of bounds. It's like a touchdown- you can be in the end zone but the ball has to break the plane for it to be a touchdown.

I kind of give them a pass on using GATA. While true, the term originated with Erk Russell and UGA/GA Southern, I see it used all over the place today. I'm pretty sure Keir Wenham Flatt, the poster, doesn't know or could care less about the origin.

We embrace "Roll Tribe". Isn't that an Alabama thing? Even further, isn't Tribe a Tribe thing? I can't tell you how much Cleveland Indian and FSU stuff I need to sift through when searching for William and mary news on Twitter.

I don't know how to add pictures here but Colgate had G.A.T.A. stickers on their helmets. I'm pretty sure the Tribe GATA references were light-hearted trolling.

Good catch. Apparently Colgate had adapted G.A.T.A as a team motto and all over their social media. I'm guessing it was KWF ribbing them- which I like even more.

Great shot of the post game celebration in the locker room at end of this reel, particularly #93 Bessant, really locked in the groove! This kid is into it.

Yesterday I saw something on the Tribe sideline that I am wondering if it is the same concept for W&M. I saw a multi-colored stick being handled and passed around among several players. From my nose bleed seats, it most resembled a croquet mallet (or maybe a smaller replica of a sledgehammer). So what is the scoop on this?
It looked like a green and gold sledgehammer. Mathis and a few other guys held it up like He-Man. No idea what it's all about.

Why did Yoder get an unsportsmanlike flag after his kick return? Saw nothing live, and rewatched the video multiple times... I see no reason for a flag at all.

Sorry if this was already discussed elsewhere

They said it was for spiking the ball, which was kinda weak sauce. It wasn't much of a spike at all.
