I'm not touting the strength of the ACC, but I read where the ACC could get possibly 11 or 12 teams into bowls...

It makes me question the relevancy of trying to measure conference strength

The American has 5 teams total receiving votes in both polls, 3 teams in the top 25 in both polls. Obviously, this success is on the verge of being sustained.

It would be interesting to see where we fall in comparison.

Massey composite does have a conference ranking. AAC is 6th, but closer to ACC than to MWC.

I didnt know if this was the one that still factored in last year results.

The Massey composite is an average of 40-50 different computer rankings. Its put together by the guy who does the Massey computer rating which is merely one ranking system.

By this point of the season, basically all computers are using only this years results.

Nonconference records, sans FCS wins

Big 10 = 29-8; 78.4%
Big 12 = 15-6; 71.4%
SEC = 21-11; 65.6%
American = 23-13; 63.9%
ACC = 19-12; 61.3%
Pac 12 = 16-11; 59.3%

No other conference has a .500 record against FBS competition
