RE: The Nooch
I had the pleasure of meeting the Nooch’s parents this weekend and several family friends. He had great support here in Frisco.

I truly enjoyed watching him play as our QB for the last two years. He had a great career and won 23 football games. One play doesn’t define a career. We were fortunate he chose JMU. I hope he and his parents will stay involved at JMU. They are Dukes just like the rest of us.

The Bison were formidable. Ben and the rest of the guys put up a good fight. They just came up a bit short yesterday.

RE: The Nooch
I don’t blame Nooch at all for that pick and I think it’s really a shame that he had to go out like that after how much he was able to improve from last year. IF you’re gonna pass there, it’s insane to run your top two receivers to the same spot and then have your quarterback try to throw it across the field to one of them. Brutal play call. Nooch deserved better, and I’m very glad he chose to come play for JMU. The next quarterback has big shoes to fill.

RE: The Nooch
I think he read the D correctly pre-play as the interceptor abandoned his man on a hunch Nooch was throwing to the flat. Doesn’t mean he was perfect reacting to the D post-snap, but I can’t kill Nooch for thinking he had the play dialed up.

The player and coach both said that is exactly what he did. He made a big (and gutsy) play.

If the XFL can keep it's positive momentum, hopefully that will be another reasonable landing space for DiNucci if the NFL doesn't come calling right away.

1st JMU QB drafted since...Mike Cawley 1996?. Could become the 1st JMU QB since Cawley too make a roster.

Some great JMU QBs never got drafted- Rascatti, Vad Lee, Schor...Rascatti might have gotten into a training camp, don't remember. As I recall, Schor got a rookie tryout, maybe Lee did, but that's it..

Apparently the Bears were maybe going to take Dinucci if the cowboys didn't.

Article & podcast on the Cowboys taking Dinucci.
https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2020/4/2...en-dinucci

Small world- Dinucci met the Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy (from Pittsburgh) in Dallas before the NC game, and McCarthy's brother apparently was Dinucci's 8th grade basketball coach..

Ben can do that "pistols celebration" thing now that he's a Cowboy. Glad he got drafted though and hope he gets a chance.

RE: The Nooch
Kenny Pickett is playing in the ACC title game tonight for Pitt against Wake Forest. How about those 2 teams playing on the title… super senior year has made college football great. Lots o’ really good teams with some of the normal blue bloods getting their comeuppance.

Of course, Pickett was the QB to cause the Nooch to lose his starting job at Pitt. Seems like it worked out in the long run for each of them.
