Don't Mess With Texas Song Contest
TXDOT is running its sometimes-annual Don't Mess With Texas Song Contest (first prize: a $5000 home studio). Their execution so far has resembled the final seconds of the 1972 Olympic basketball final -- they first announced that all entries (30-second videos) had to be submitted by Dec. 31, then on Jan. 1 announced the deadline was now Jan. 31; they initially said that voting would occur Jan. 1-15, then Feb. 1-15, then on Feb. 27 announced that they had experienced "technical difficulties" and were going to need to conduct a complete revote March 1-14.
Anyway, my sons jumped through all of their hoops. If you hope our next anti-litter jingle is a solo country singer with an acoustic guitar, you have about 100 options to choose from. If, however, you like something a bit more upbeat, with horns and keys, maybe a tiny bit Motown, check out the 3rd artists listed/3rd video down (Alex Yanochik/Luke Yanochik) on the link. Voting (Texas residents only, no more than once per day) runs through March 14.

Cheers!

Voted.
Actually an easy vote to make. I don't know about you, but most State of Texas adverts seem incredibly dorky to me. This one was actually fun.
