It took a lot of hard work and COMMITMENT to climb out of that conference. Basketball sucks right now, but it's not a reflection of a lack of commitment. New facilities for softball, track, tennis, and yes football IS a sign of our commitment.

ESPN also said G5 programs are irrelevant and pays us peanuts. Do you really believe them? Of course recent success is factored into these and you can clearly see why they said that but that doesn't mean jack if the schools in the conference have other priorities. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, we can go down this rabbit hole all day. In hindsight App was probably worth more consideration than given, but we all seem to be doing just fine. Nice stadium by the way. Jealous! Hope to get y'all back on the schedule, and other CSUA teams. Especially since we're something like 5-1 verses y'all. We call that easy money!

Tech has spent more time in the top 25 than the entire Sunbelt Conference

A couple years ago Tech had just as many NFL draft picks as the whole Sunbelt Conference.

Not really. SBC hasn’t improved, it’s just that CUSA has slid so far down that it feels like the SBC has improved.

When was the last time Tech managed to beat storied programs like LSU or Nebraska?

If you could get a 4-team playoff, I'd say merge into 4 divisions of 6. No one has respect for either. Let's eat the entire Sunbelt, but make sure the programs that don't want to play one another aren't in the same division.

You could also stop at 18 and leave the Sunbelt alive, but then it will grab Liberty, NMSU, and Idaho to stay alive, so you might as well eat it all.

Not that it's relevant or important, but just so you realize you're wrong, SB has had two teams reach the top 25 in past 3 years (Troy & App).

I think the whole point is that 'a couple of years' the CUSA was > SB. Today, SB > CUSA. Sorry, but true.

DUDE, I friggin love this idea. It can be done. Just have 6 conference games locked in (your five then one floating).

Have the final two weeks be “the tournament.”

The ones play the ones, twos play the twos (and so on). Ties in division are broken by point differential.

Then the final week of conference games are your finals. The teams that didn’t make it play each other (winners play winners, losers play losers.)

App was courting CUSA at the same time as UNCC. CUSA picked UNCC, and we received a bid from the SB shortly after. Don't know about the other schools.

Charlotte did not come from the SunBelt. The premise was that we got wrong programs from the SunBelt.
