Lafayette was one of (if not the worst) offensive teams in FCS last year. If they score 32, we should be more concerned about the defense than the offense.

With that said, we win 35-10.

I think we will surprise everyone with our overall team speed and stamina. I could see us shutting them out. Let's hope for a hot evening to put the Leopards on their heels out of the gate.

Completely new scheme and unproven QB play leads to turnovers...the only reason they stay in it.

I think we will see a faster team this year. New coaches, new schemes, new training/conditioning. The key will be execution on both sides of the ball given all the changes. Sounds like a great influx of energy. The last few years the stadium has felt too flat too many times.

My first prediction of the year is that the depth chart will have at least one ‘or’ on it at the QB position.

RE: Game 1: Lafayette Leopards
Howard's first game under London/Marion and their offense was a 43-40 stunner over FBS UNLV. Yes, UNLV is horrible, but going on the road to Vegas against an FBS team is still a tremendous feat. I look at the talent we have and think there's no reason we can't get off to a great start. I think we win this one and it's not even close.

If you account for the spread alone, Howard beating UNLV was one of the biggest upsets in college football history.

Per HC London, still no srarter at QB.

A 24-year-old grad transfer, Kilton Anderson, and a true freshman, Hollis Mathis, are the two QBs left standing as W&M preps for Saturday date against visiting Lafayette. https://t.co/fCcMb0eZZI https://t.co/21to17PZDB

Per Dave Johnson (if this was listed in the article, I apologize, am not a subscriber), London has said that both QBs will get time on Saturday. Now this is pure speculation on my part, but I believe we will have a starting QB by the end of OOC.

I know betting lines aren't indicative of true point spread, but I'll take winning by 2 TDs. 24-10 would be fine by me. I think it'll be closer to 33-13.

I’m oddly okay with this for now. Not shocking given it’s a brand new offense. I think giving both some game reps before UVA is good. My guess is Anderson winds up starting at UVA because of his experience, but think we really may see both. This offense seems to lend itself to accommodating multiple QBs.

It may have been talked about elsewhere, but what are the viewing options for this game? Is it only Flosports?

I guess I'll be the negative one. I really don't like this. I'm a big believer in either starting true freshmen or redshirting them. I think that being half-in/half-out hurts everyone. I still trust our staff to come through the early slate and have a clear starter but I'm a little surprised there isn't clear separation between a 6th year QB and a true freshman.

And I'm sure this would be less of a big deal if it wasn't the third straight year we've gone through this.
