Marquette/UCLA Schedule Series
Marquette will go to UCLA next December, while UCLA will return in 2021. Marquette and UCLA have not met since 1964.

Next year, we will be at UCLA, v. UW at home, a B12 challenge game (hopefully at Fiserv), and maybe even a Gavitt Games match up (although I wouldn't be shocked if we are being planned on getting skipped next year). They will also get two decent games in the 2020 Hall of Fame Tip Off Classic at Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut.

RE: Marquette/UCLA Schedule Series
I shared this on the Marquette board, but I believe that Cronin initiated conversations with Marquette due to his interest/offers in Patrick Baldwin and Michael Foster, both of the Milwaukee-area. It would be a nice pitch to be able to tell both elite prospects that they would essentially have a "home" game for family to watch him play in-person, if they were to commit to UCLA.

It is interesting in timing for Marquette, because - usually - we play Wisconsin this weekend during the season (right before finals). This year, we play Bucky in November; the last time it wasn't played a weekend in December was back in 1997. Perhaps we are committing to moving it fully to November moving forward.

games like these aren't going away, 20 game schedules or not. Like I've said elsewhere, it's going to be really interesting to see how the committee sends teams going forward.

Our associate AD went on Twitter yesterday to say the MU/UW series will be on schedule for a long time, so that game is no going anywhere either. Not a lot of room for buy games and/or cupcake games, but perhaps this is where power conferences in basketball are moving.

I hope that there is still a couple games on the schedule for local low/mid-majors in the future

I do think we're going to see the exempt tournaments only counting 2 or 3 games, with the other 1-2 games still allowed to be scheduled regularly by teams- giving teams some relief there.

Buzz and Cronin are friendly. It was Mick that recommended Buzz to Whit at VT.
