Man they sure did talk down on coastal! I think they might be a surprise team this year. Possibly on the edge of bowl eligibility.

Anonymous Coaches talking about GSU matches what's said when any two Anonymous Humans in Atlanta talk about GSU.

Saying TXST had strong special teams when they couldn't make an XP is interesting.

The last experience with Chadwell as coach didn't go well. Culture seems to be in a tail spin in the program and local support hasn't increased much, if at all. They are basically still a Big South program with a stadium that has been made larger. They had quite a few key guys transfer out this offseason as well.

Seems like a Year 0 situation for Chadwell. Unless some of these younger guys on defense are better than expected, and the offense improves it's efficiency, could be a 3-win year for the 'Cants.

They have enough to win games they shouldn't like GS two years ago or UAB last year but they just haven't been consistent since moving up. Just looking at the recruiting I think they are a couple years away (with good recruiting) from getting it together.

You're wrong there. Culture was a problem for the first get go for Chadwell, Coastal brought in a man, who the players absolutely HATED, and was the enemy for 4 years. He constantly ran his mouth about the Coastal while he was at Chuck South. I understand the animosity the team had for him. Within 4 months the man went from the enemy, to a coach (who the players didn't respect because they saw he was on a leash). Coastal has started to have a culture problem the last two years in the program, and almost everyone who transferred out was a locker room cancer. Our recruits are better, and we moved on from a bad DC. Do I expect Coastal, to contend for the conference championship? No, but I do think we will make more noise than before. Also I hope, we are now hitting in practice, that JoMo has retired. That alone could correct a lot of issues on the defensive side of the ball.

The two seasons under Willie Fritz GS had no contact practice and we went 18-7 with a conference title and Bowl victory during that run. I'm not sold that beating your own players up is the way to improve a team.

He's definitely pretty mouthy. When he played us two years ago he mentioned it was "personal" (probably ticked off Tyson Summers was hired over him). I think he'll get everything in order eventually, but the comments about the defense are right.

Is Chadwell a part of the culture problem, or a solution? Winning fixes everything, just ask Georgia Southern. Hard to go from a Top 10 ranking year in and year out, seeing Georgia Southern and App making a relatively seamless transition, and then flailing.

I'm just not sure Coastal isn't in a position where an entirely new coaching staff as a member of FBS isn't warranted. Turn over a new leaf and move on in this world if Chadwell doesn't improve things in the locker room.

You could say "all" of those transfers were a cancer but it doesn't seem realistic for each of your quality players who left to be a cancer to the locker room. Perhaps they were tired of losing games they should win, while winning one game they should lose each year? 2019 with Chadwell should provide some answers.

Doesn’t make it groundbreaking.
