I'll start Cuse is down two starters (McKinley Williams DT and Sam Heckel OL). No idea how long but I think both miss the first part of the season.
The Defense has been dominating the Offense so far. Dino seems really impressed that the Defense is really good this year. Offense still getting an identity.
Cuse grabbed a WR from Quebec late (Kevin Mital). Just became eligible. He looks like he is 28 and has is really tough and fast. I suspect he'll play 4 games this year and redshirt. https://247sports.com/college/syracuse/A...134314616/
The 2 Junior college transfers and the 3 true freshman at DT are looking better than expected. Whether that means not much was expected or they are actually good is only known by the coaches.

So far (knocking on wood here) no significant injuries to report. The first two weeks of camp will be the dangerous part, as Satterfield and staff will be pushing the physical part of the game. I'm hoping that means we remember how to tackle again. But time will tell on that count.
Malik Cunningham dinged a knee, which has him sitting out a couple of days. He was able to finish practice when he got hurt, so it can't be too major a situation. Reports go back and forth from those who would know, whether or not Cunningham or Pass will be the starting QB. So this could be a big deal.
Mehki Becton, already one of the top O-Linemen in the ACC, is apparently impressing in the new, run focused offense. If so, that is good news ... but again, I'll wait to see how that translates in game 1 versus Notre Dame.
DT Marvin Wilson sustained a minor injury. DT Robert Cooper who played overweight last season has lost over 30 pounds and his goal is to lose 20 more. So far the interior DL looks to be the strength on defense along with the DBs.

At GT the question is how many of their highly touted transfers (now at 4 that are 4* or better with yesterday's news of Derrik Allen transferring from Notre Dame) will be eligible.

Perhaps. That's conventional thinking.
But maybe opening with Notre Dame will bring out the best in the kids all off season long, preparing harder than they would have for Western .... while Notre Dame's kids naturally look at the disaster that was U of L football last year, and take it for granted.
They play the games for a reason. Notre Dame should beat the crap out of Louisville. But will they?

in the mean time it helps sell season tickets and 3 game packages.
Keyshon Camp will be playing both DT and DE at Pitt this year. With the loss of Rashad Weaver, Camp is taking snaps at both positions. Thanks for your interest.
Apparently, Malik Cunningham's "ding" was bigger than originally thought. He's still sitting out of practices, but .... it sounds like the staff is being pretty cautious with him. It also kinda sounds like he was ahead in the QB race, which could explain the extra caution in bringing him back -- with the idea of better to have him for 10-11 games, than rush him back, makes things worse in game 1.
It sounds like Jawan Pass is a half-beat slow in recognizing things, which results in hurried throws, and off balance throws, .... and is a nightmare to contemplate. HOPEFULLY there's time enough for him to get his timing down. With Cunningham out, he's getting reps he wouldn't normally get .... so the optimist in me is hopeful. But it's concerning.
Also sounds like the D is way ahead of the O, and that the staff is pretty comfortable with the starting unit, although the red zone D needs work.
Can't wait for real football to start ... 9 days away for a couple of games.
