Yall only won by 42?? I'm going to have to give ODU the edge here.

2017 USU 40 BYU 24, USU 6-7 (NM Bowl) BYU 4-9
2018 USU 45 BYU 20, USU 11-2 (NM Bowl) BYU 7-6 (Idaho Potato Bowl)
USU is clearly better right now than BYU. If you don't consider BYU to be G5, then USU is the only G5 team in Utah so they don't fit the OP's criteriea (and NMSU, Liberty, and UMass should not be considered either).

Different conferences / SOS - probably based on common opponents which would have been Coastal.
Not a lot of difference between coosa and the belt
Massey and S+P tend to disagree.
I'm not wading in on the argument. But maybe the gentlemen thought we were talking about who has the worst team this year? I'm under the impression that UAB lost a lot of talent since last year, no?
I also assumed we were talking about Football and not the overall athletic departments. It's so hard to compare football schools with basketball focused schools etc.
Aren't we close enough to football season for it to be politically correct enough to just talk about Football teams without having to consider tennis and women's tight rope?
UAB did lose a lot of talent. Overall we are more talented this year but it’s more evenly distributed. The starters are not as good but the depth is better.
