Yes. I am a third generation Trojan. My Grandmother attended Troy Teachers College, my Dad "Bulldog" played football in 1952 for Troy State College, my two brothers, sister and I graduated from Troy State University - they met their spouses at Troy, and their kids (5 of the 7) have graduated from Troy University, one more will start this Fall with one left to out of the fourth generation. Two potential fifth generation Trojans made their entry into the world this past year! Also, six of us have been in the Sound of the South! Go Trojans!

EKU grad in 1984...our son played FB at Georgia Southern 2011-14, though I've known about their FB history for quite some time.

When driving from Kansas to Florida we would always spend the night in Russelville. Most beautiful girls anywhere. Even more than Troy or San Marcos and that is saying something.

This may have something to do with a 6th-7th grade boy not being as observant on this topic as a college-aged man, but I lived in Russellville for just under two years at that age and don't remember the women.

I have a theoretical 1000 page photo album etched to memory in my head chronicling images I've seen in San Marcos though.

Decided I wanted to go to a football school since my high school didn't have it. Set foot on campus in 2005... pretty good timing at App State. Been hooked ever since.

Oh I suspect you are right. Probably just happened to see several in a row. Sort of the same thing probably happened at SWTS. I waiting for my girl friend to come down from her room in the women's high rise.

Saw one beauty after another coming in. I wonder if maybe the Strutters had just got off practice, etc. but it still left an impression.

BTW I was a Federal Agent when we were driving from Kansas to Florida and my wife was prettier than any of them.

RE: Did you attend the school you pull for?
I grew up in North Carolina, the son of a father that attended the University of Alabama so I was a Bama fan growing up. I attended and graduated App in 1977 and have loved on the Apps ever sense. I admit I still wish Bama well but if App ever played them I would most certainly be in Black and Gold.

Living in Atlanta where 80% of the population are Walmart UGA fans it is fun to stand out as an App grad. Gotta say the GaSo alums represent pretty well here as well and GaSt support has gotten a little better since they have football too.

Took the Super Senior route at App from 05-10. Loved it so much I'd do another 5 years in a heart beat.

No other family member before me had gone higher then DII. The family naturally pulled for the 1 of the big 3 (UNC/NCSt/Duke). My arrival and involvement with the football program as a student created several App fans in the family.

Grew up and Alabama fan but lived 45 minutes to an hour from Troy. Attended many high school band events at Troy growing up which ultimately led me there. Class of 2004 and have been a die hard Troy fan ever since. Being there for that first “Division 1” game against Nebraska, as well as the stadium overhaul really helped make me die hard and only for Troy.

RE: Did you attend the school you pull for?
I never really pulled for a college team growing up in Greensboro NC but I mildly followed Xavier basketball (my dad's alma mater) and App State football because I loved visiting Boone as a kid and thought the school had an interesting and unique name.

So immediately, I took to supporting App and only App upon stepping foot on campus, thru graduation, and to this day. I became a lifetime diehard hanging from the goal posts after App knocked off I-AA #1 Marshall on a rainy Saturday night freshman year.

I keep half an eye on VCU during basketball season since we live in Richmond VA and my wife graduated from there. And I will eventually follow the field hockey team my daughters go on to play for, if they do. UVA is already recruiting my 4th grader?!?! Crazy.

Nope, that's just an average day in San Marcos.
