Devout muslims are commanded by their religion to lie to the infidel.

I have no problem with anyone stating they are against the death penalty, but you shouldn’t include lies like ‘often used against innocent people’ in your opinion.

There's been many who deserved getting a dirt nap against their will. Most of which who murdered someone in a gruesome fashion.

I'm in favor of the death penalty when the perp has been determined to actually have committed the crime. Unfortunately, there have been many people convicted and then actually proved innocent after serving X amount of jail time awaiting their death penalty. It could be one of us or a relative next time.

Mexico does not have the death penalty and if there's a country that REALLY needs it it's them.

Islam has always offered mercy as a way out of capital punishment. Depending on the culture, the family of the victim could decide weather or not they wanted the punishment to be executed. Also, before the Wahabbis (sp) came about, the burden of proof required by the Quran made executions an unrealistic option in a lot of places.

As far as Omar is concerned, she may be Muslim, but she is the child of civil servants AND culturally Somali. Somalia has the Xeer system traditionally. Every crime is a property crime (even murder) and material payment the usual punishment and they don’t imprison, let alone execute under that system.

So this thread title might be the most misleading pile of crap I’ve ever read on this board, and that’s and impressive thing to say. We all know she’s not wrong that many innocent people have been found guilty in this country, from minor crimes to capitol ones, and there’s never going to be a perfect system where no innocent person could ever be found guilty. In a perfect world where we knew for complete certainty that anyone sentenced to death was guilty then maybe I’d support it, but as long as humans are fallible I am not willing to support the idea of even 1 innocent person being killed by the state.

The thread title is quite correct. She will oppose them getting the death penalty.

I don't have any problem with people philosophically opposed to the death penalty, but I think we need it for certain types of criminals.
