Unfortunately I too could actually see a scenario where we go undefeated, beating the Big 10 champ, handing them their only loss, and then get excluded. In that scenario OSU may not get in either due to their loss to an AAC team that plays “in a weak conference”. The one thing that could offset that logic is if our conference mates make some noise by winning many of their P5 games and we have 3-4 ranked teams.

Depends upon what happens with other teams and conferences but if we go undefeated against this schedule I think we'll have a good shot at getting in the playoffs. Remember it's a football committee that makes the decisions, not the accounting department. Some bias in favor of big name schools won't surprise me, but I don't think it will be decided on who has the biggest richest fanbase. And even if they do let which team will bring the most eyes on the game be a factor, a lot of folks who aren't necessarily UC fans will still be very interested in seeing an undefeated UC play. America still loves underdogs too.
