Swofford's Replacement
Swofford is finally getting old enough to be retired in the next few years. Jurich's shot at the job has been expunged. Anyone see a legitimate commissioner out there?

A name that stands out is Jack Swarbrick at ND. Of course I want the most competent leader and visionary for the job, but also don’t want an appearance of a Tobacco Road bias (real or imaginary).

I would assume that he would be the front runner.

Age will be an issue with some potential candidates.

Syracuse's AD Wildhark is 62 or 63 and from ESPN not the clubby academic world
The Assistant SEC Commish Mark Womack probably does not know there is a world outside the State of Alabama.
Whit Babcock from VT might be a contender.
Blake James from Miami might be a contender.

Kevin White at Duke is a Hell No.
Anyone connected to UNC is a Hell No so no Bubba.
The AD at UVa is too young, and too female.
Debbie Yow just retired from State, has a few health issues, and is probably a little to female and in your face for the the Presidents.

He's almost as old as Swofford. He's 65 or 66

I would think they Presidents would go no older than 62 unless they need a caretaker.

I'm guessing when the time comes there's a good chance it will be someone few of us have even heard of.

I think GTS will be campaigning for Mike Bobinski... he's a Notre Dame alum with ACC experience.

Wildhack is 61 IIRC. Not a spring chicken but he would have 10-15 good years if he chose to interview.

Bubba is a hired hand and not a "real" Carolina guy, we wouldn't even nominate him.

That was my first thought and surprised it wasn't one of the immediate ideas.

He's around 61 years old, but that shouldn't be a big deal. He's been in the league with GT and Clemson for a while now. Question for him is being the Commish of ACC a step up or down in his career...and yes, I'm being serious.

RE: Swofford's Replacement
It will probably end up being some Associate Commissioner from another conference but don't rule out some ACC AD. The other ACC ADs know which of their colleagues are smartest, savviest and most reliable.
