Well- UConn accounts for 6 six of those losses: that record is going to look a lot better for the AAC after the Huskies go Indy in 2020.
In all seriousness, as someone who has followed football for many decades and has familiarity with schools in each conference, I believe UC, UH, UCF, USF and Memphis would be very competitive in the ACC. Especially when you consider they would have the financial resources to keep their coaching staffs and recruit at an even higher level (they aren't doing so bad as it stands).
Alas, we don't live in Utopia. The system is designed so that schools such as these never rise above the ceiling that is artificially placed. Can't have the steerage class rubbing elbows with the people in first class.
Yes, UConn accounts for a lot of losses period. However the AAC is 0-11 against BC, Duke & WF.
I think Cincinnati, Houston & UCF would be competitive in any P5 conference today. Given Memphis history I have doubts about them but they are currently on a rise. Being a P5 in Florida isn’t a guarantee either looking at Florida, FSU & Miami so I have doubts about USF as well.

That's very good when you consider that the 8th to 11th best ACC team are facing off against the 2nd to 3rd best AAC team. 6-6 VT should have beaten 10-2 Cincy last year in the Military bowl.

...and that is who UConn should be most upset about. Rutgers did not deserve to upgrade conferences AT ALL!!!

Glad you guys kept it close, but you realize Cincinnati did not have its starting QB, the #1 WR, an OL and the team's leading tackler (linebacker) due to injury? In addition safety James Wiggins sat the first half due to a targeting penalty in the last game of the season. Its more, playing the "should have" game that UC's margin of victory would have been wider.
The bowl tie-in is a mismatch for the ACC for sure, but its a small price to pay when you consider the P5 has all the better bowl tie-ins while programs like Cincinnati, Houston, UCF and Boise are locked out of better bowl situations.

The fact that we lost our starting QB in the 1st quarter kind've evened things out.
