I don't think that was my point. I am talking scheduling and going forward.

Look, I've heard ECU is doing this, that and it's going to turn around, and, well............ it never does. So until it does, call me a naysayer and all the talk just smoke!

That's actually probably fair. But Lebo was never a recruiter, so 6 years of purgatory there specifically after lost Tim Craft to Gardner Webb.

Also C-USA was legit initially, then dropped as teams left, and next had the exposure.

The AAC has all of that and now we finally have a legit recruiter/hustler to go with it.

My earlier responses were to the idea of being an RPI on your team for the coming season.

RE: 2019-20 Men's Basketball Non-Conference Schedule
It's possible that ECU will make a move now. I've seen teams that I never that would ever field a team that would beat UNCW like Gardner Webb for instance so with the right coach, anything is possible. UNCW could have hired Dooley but went with McGrath due to upside potential. Time will tell. McGrath and his staff also recruits well but they tend to get guys that are freshmen or have 3 years or can sit a year.

We're talking about 2 entirely different styles of recruiting. And, who's to say that one is better right now? I do believe that if most of the guys stick around, UNCW will eventually get back to being good. Tolafree is going to make a nice difference as well next 3 years and Boggs can play too. The staff has added much needed athleticism and speed at several positions. The kid from the Florida Gators will be very good too but may have to sit a year. Hawks need to add post depth and that may be their downfall this year but I like 1-4.

ECU will go as far as their guard play more than likely. You have to have a good PG or 2 that can lead your team and you have to have guys that can knock down shots. It's that simple and we don't know how that will work out yet. I like the size that ECU has and Gardner is a beast. There are definitely some pieces and you will look good in an airport. Let's see how that all-important PG and wings play out. It may work out.

I wonder if the DC Classic is related to the BB&T Classic that we played in a few years ago against Georgetown. BB&T being bought out by Suntrust could have messed with the naming rights. If I recall, George Washington also plays in the event, who would be a good opponent for us, but I don't think this would be a tournament. It would probably be held at the new arena where the CAA tournament will be. I could be wrong, just a thought.

Towson is playing in a tournament right before Christmas in the new arena where the CAA tournament is being held. Of course we are not apart of it since the teams have already been announced.

Our tournament would have to be around Thanksgiving then.

Cleveland St and Florida International are DC Classic opponents. The 2nd non D1 game is also apart of this deal

As always the Non D1 schools aren't very appealing, but with 3 P5 games and Davidson on the schedule we're gonna needs those Ws to build confidence. Campbell, Charlotte, and Mercer are 3 solid games to get in Trask to go along with UNC. The season will be here before you know it.

FWIW (and that's probably not much) "Mountain West Wire" predicts that Boise State will beat UNCW. They also seem to not know anything about the current UNCW lineup, and don't seem to know how to conduct an internet search to find out.

Well... they better hope Boise St is better at research and planning/prep than they are.
