And yet Uconn should have to pay him every dollar of that buyout.

LOL. Keep dreaming. That's like saying Cincy owed Cronin a lifetime contract.

It's really not. Uconn agreed to the buyout. They fired him because the program fell apart and owe the contracted amount. UC never agreed to a lifetime contract.

And Ollie agreed to the contract. The contracted stated he could be fired for cause if he committed NCAA violations.

The NCAA ruled that Ollie committed violations, and lied. He was given a 3 year show cause penalty, not by UConn, but by the NCAA!

UConn doesn't owe him a dollar. This is a pretty clear cut situation. Not sure what your argument is.

We still have access to the results, which shows how much of a joke vacating wins is. Short of point shaving, what happened has happened.

And you don't know if the other team cheated.

I guess that's the end of that! Good for Ollie. He wasn't the right man for the job, but didn't deserve to have his name sullied by UConn.

LOL UConn, tried and failed to rip off their coach. Seriously though, it was probably the Americans fault.

RE: UCONN / Ollie Violations
.

UConn may be getting their comeuppance for permitting a culture of rule violations to exist in their MBB program across 3 decades. They knew about these violations, but looked the other way because they wanted to win championships desperately.

It was suspicious and extremely unseemly when the primary instigator of the systemic violations walked away scott-free with a slap on the wrist, while UConn tried to dump by far the worst punishment on Ollie. A classic story of unequal justice under the law.

But the parties agreed to have the case arbitrated, and the arbitrator has weighed the evidence and come down against the University.

Bad karma.

Wow…we’re still going there?
Certain posters are still hung up on something that has nothing to do with them now.
What happened to big celebration of UConn leaving?

RE: UCONN / Ollie Violations
For a program that was worried about $$ in AAC, they sure do spend a ton of it. I hope AAC got their money.
Beyond that not an AAC problem anymore.
