Yeah. The reason ECU has two FCS opponents is because VT cancelled their game against ECU this year, because ECU would not travel to VT last year due to the hurricane.

I think that ECU goes 7-5 with basically the same players from last year. I don't think that people can really appreciate just how much Mo sucked as a HC or how much Compher sucked as an AD.

Completely forgot...seems odd that there were no open slots with an FBS team, but that is more agreeable than simply scheduling lower division teams to boost wins like someone's basketball team used to do.

If anything we've scheduled too difficult in the past. In my opinion our future scheduling philosophy needs to look something like couple of decent P-5's, a G-5, an FCS. Obviously the P-5/G-5 mix should be somewhat fluid. We don't need to kill ourselves OOC anymore because the AAC has shown to be an awesome league for that.

I would argue that it hasn't. See double undefeated UCF.

4 to 6 wins. As always we have plenty of talent at the skill positions, the lines are a toss up and will tell the tale.

As bad as last season was, I think 2017 was actually the low water mark of the Mo error. I think I watched the first two games that season. Last year I didn't completely give up until almost November.

Yeah not that we were by any means good last year, but by comparison to the weekly embarrassments that were 2017 last year seemed almost competitive. I predicted 6 wins, with the biggest "upset" being USF at home.

We disagree mate. UCF has turned into a machine and they deserve credit for that. Look what they did to Cincy last year in Orlando, they controlled that game from kick off, and Cincy was a very good team. Now their fans still act like new money, but it is what it is.

Right, but they couldn't do better than 8th when the committee sat down.

I know this is a wildly hypothetical situation, but if you swap UCFs 4 OOC opponents with the (absolute best case scenario possible) 4 playoff teams (which were 3 conference champs and ND), and they'll still gone undefeated, the committee would have had real trouble keeping them out. Unlikely situation? Absolutely. But it implies that there is a sliding scale between an absolutely perfect scenario and the situation where UCF is 8th.

Many say that we (AAC teams) will never crack the top 4 no matter the circumstances. For those, I'm not going to change your mind. I, however, believe that Houston had a shot if they'd gone undefeated with their 2016 schedule. I might be delusional, but whatever.

What I do know is that, if/when the playoff ever goes to 8, getting an AAC team into the top 8 will 100% come down to SOS. We schedule way in advance, so the next schedule we put together could be an important one down the road. As in UCF's case, you don't want to be caught good with a bad schedule.

Sorry to go all Todge. It's the Friday mic drop, and I hate weak a** schedules.

Those results wouldn't be too surprising. Although I would pick USF to beat UConn. Verses ECU is more of a toss up with USF favored in my eyes.

I don't disagree with a lot of what you're saying. I'm simply saying we need balanced schedules that acknowledge that our conference is good and that we don't need to try to schedule up to compensate like we used to. Balance.

I see a bowl game in year one under Coach Houston but probably not much more than that.

I actually believe that's possible but we are bound to blow one of the others, either @Navy or @SMU or perhaps both. That said, (other than last year) I always believe that ECU at least has a puncher's chance to knock off State. However, I'm gonna say we shock some people & go exactly how you predicted except for we also drop @SMU and finish 8-4 (5-3 AAC).

I feel like we always lose at SMU and get up for State (save last year which was a unique situation), so I have us beating some teams that are better than some of the teams I have us losing to... but isn't that how it goes?

The only team I was concerned about got scared and cancelled. So I see an undefeated national champion team.

6-6 won't get you in a bowl with two FCS on the schedule. The floor for eligibility is 7-5 for ECU

We seem to always have a better chance at the beginning of the year. Our lack of depth gets to best of us by November.

Not sure if you are referring to my post or not. If so, I didn't see any odds. I looked at the schedule, combined that with my understanding of the current state of your program and recent lack of success and came up with four wins.
