I like it because it's a soft reminder that the grass is greener where you water it, something Navy and a few other AAC schools have taken to heart.

Exactly, Uconn made two bad coaching hires in row. That cripples nearly every program.

That was a football only member AD responding. You think any other AD feels the same about losing UConn basketball and it's impact?

I don't think Memphis cares one bit. #1 recruiting class in the nation, plus we've been through worse and still thrived.

We were 4 seconds from a national title in friggin CUSA 2.0. Our basketball success isn’t tied to whether we play a mediocre UCONN twice a year in conference.

I would imagine WSU feels the same way coming out of the MVC.

If Jim Calhoun was still 50 years old and at UCONN then perhaps I’d feel different. But he isn’t.

Conference affiliation is the least important factor for success for Memphis.

Still blows my mind that a bottom feeder will actually leave a solid football league.. I mean, literally all G4 programs would give their left nut to be a part of this club.... Heck, even a small program like southern miss would run circles around uconn.

Way to go uconn... show your students how no to be competitive in the real world. Unreal SMH

A Ga State fan and Usm fan , neither school makes the grade for AAC, Looking for any vulnerability in the AAC armor. You guys are so salty and jealous that your schools are an afterthought in the world of college sports. Ga state being the biggest fraud of them all, lol.
Actually could care less. But please continue to entertain me.

When those students start working in Tri State offices who do you suppose they will be working with? I am betting that heavily with alumni of Northeast and Mid Atlantic schools. If they can figure out football they are good. The reality is probably that playing Memphis, Houston and SMU in football was not moving the meter at the turnstiles in Storrs.

The point is Memphis - under the right coach - thrived in C-USA. The path to NCAA level success is easier in the AAC, but the Tiger's destiny is not dependent upon it.

Derrick Rose came to play for us when our biggest conference rival was UAB.

Navy AD Chet Gladchuk doesn't believe UConn's impending departure will significantly affect the AAC TV deal.

"The ratio of interest by ESPN on the AAC, it was overwhelming in football. … I don’t think losing UConn is going to affect us to any degree of any significance.”

That came off salty...lol

That’s why I love their AD. Don’t you remember his rants on Boise?

What were they?

Navy was fiercely loyal th the AAC when Boise bailed. Publicly. It was awesome. Love Navy always. 04-bow

You can park BBall anywhere a be successful, UC and Ville also had a ton of success in CUSA, short stint in the Great Midwest, Metro, MVC etc.

UConn football stinks but yet no one here in Houston cried about it. Heck, UConn whine over over like a little b&%ch as if they were the only ones flying to play everyone in this league.

This league has a number of solid football programs. If your program can't get excited in playing Houston UCF Navy Cincinnati Memphis etc., than you simply should just burn the football program down. Oh wait UConn has already. Hehe
