Tacko Fall is not being signed because of his talent right now. He is being signed because of is now perceived as being a fan favorite. Maybe he can prove his game with experience later, but drawing fans is important, too. I hope it works out for him, an any of the leagues.

Its an Exhibit 10 contract. He's being signed to be training camp filler and a G League player that isnt on a 2 way deal.

I was thrown off by the thread title, too. It has nothing to do with a lack of knowledge of basketball and more to do with me not following the NBA all that closely. I used to be a huge Orlando Magic fan, but my fanaticism pretty much died when I saw that the culture of the league was heading in a direction that I felt I couldn't support. I think Jason Whitlock summed it up best in a column he wrote several years ago about the direction the NBA All-Star Weekend had taken; wanna-be gangsta rappers all over the place and other nonsense. I also like the rules and style of play in college basketball better than in the NBA. You all support or don't support the NBA as you like, it's cool; I'm just throwing in my two cents.

Celtics just announced they signed Tacko. I'm not sure if that means something different that the first contract he got?

I know he's been blowing up in the media, been a fan favorite for summer league.

Celtic fans have been pretty supportive of him getting a roster spot soon. A lot of the coaching comments have been on needing more development. Taking my black and gold glasses off, he seems more like a fan favorite vote than an actual NBA talent. Celtics have an older fan base and really like the Big Men of yesteryear.

Personally, I'd love to see him get a roster spot. A shoe deal would be cool too. I'd rock some Tacko's
