What if we move the Fenway Bowl to an actual AAC school and rename it in conjunction to that region?

Then the ACC is out and the Colonial Athletic Association is in.

Put it in Greenville. American vs ACC. Between Virginia schools and NC schools should be enough to bring a good crowd.

Fenway bowl isn't going anywhere. Who else are they gonna get? The Big 10 is full, already announced bowl lineup. The ACC won't play the MAC in a bowl. So, it's either the ACC vs. AAC or no one.

E- Umass ain't going to the AAC. There is just no way.

New England in general has proven (to be kind) to be a lukewarm football region. Umass has an atrocious stadium - and it is too small. There are no concrete plans (or funding) in place to add a meaningful number of seats to that stadium (or just replace it) in the near future. At this point, even if there was a blue print out there somewhere it is at least 5 years away from a shovel in the ground, and promising Gillette in the interim is already a failed experiment as well.

The AD (McCutcheon) was either the dumbest man on earth or the greatest salesman EVER to get the progam upgrade based on those Gillette projections he concocted. Everybody from here to Oxnard (who will get that reference???) knew that playing home games 90 miles away from home was stupid.

I think you must have missed that my entire post was sarcastic. UMass isn't getting the invite.

UMass will, however, petition the AAC. Not doing it is stupid, but we all know what the result will be.
