After back to back 3-9 seasons in football ECU is a package deal for the big east basketball only. They plan to start tearing down the 75 million dollar football expansion next week.

Why would the Big East shrink their team share by adding another team? ESPN isn't going to magically up the team shares in the middle of a contract for the heck of it. Clearly UCONN BBall isn't what it once was, so why would ESPN up the Big East payment even after the contract is done?

Because Fox owns the Big East rights, and there's apparently language in their contract that increases the payout per team if the league goes to 12.

With that being said, they seem content on keeping their 20 game round robin schedule so they probably don't add anyone else

Thanks for the vote Stookey, but IF the BE adds another I think you are looking at a VCU, or Dayton. IE, probably an A10 team.
