Poll: What should the AAC do if UConn leaves?
Stay put at 11.
Add one football only (ex. BYU)
Add one full member (ex. Southern Miss/Marshall)
Go for broke and add as many Mountain West/service academies as possible

Dump Tulsa and the divisions and use a true "Round Robin" format in football.

I'm for this. Tulame and Hitachi can go as well.

LOL you Cincinnati fans are serious. I am surprised that you all don't want to kick out ECU too.

Anyway what basis would you all use for kicking out Tulsa, Tulane and Wichita State? Can a school literally be kicked out without cause?

Let's put it this way. 11 members (5 in the East) means more UCF and UC games against Memphis, Houston, Navy. Addition by subtraction

Tulsa a good member. They occasionally shine in both football and basketball, and pretty much owned UCF in the old CUSA football title game. I don't understand the animosity for the Golden Hurricane.

Im pretty close to your way of thinking.

#1 choice---Talk to BYU.

#2 Choice---When BYU says no---talk to Army. If they agree to come aboard, add Army for football only and VCU for olympic sports.

#3 Choice---If Army declines, offer the same deal to Air Force.

#4 Choice---Stand pat at 11. No other school who would say "yes" adds enough value to bother adding. Standing pat at 11 gives everyone a small raise and give us time to see if a school breaks out from the pack to become the obvious choice. Choices like UAB, Old Dominion, Charlotte, S Miss, etc are fools gold right now. All have potential---but in all their cases---that potential has proven to be difficult to realize. Patience is called for if there is no obvious #12. BYU, Army, and AF are obviously solid replacements. Behind them, there is no clear 4th replacement candidate.

14-80 in conference play is apparently what it takes to get kicked out of a league as a football only member.

I know.

Just odd coming from the Cincy people, since they have common history dating back to the Missouri Valley Conference.

RE: If UConn leaves, what is your preferred action by the AAC?
One more action I would make if I were the AAC. We now have 10 million dollars in found money (UConn exit fee). Time to set that aside, add a small amount to it every year (say 1 million carved out of our CFP distribution every year). Over the next 6 years we can build a war chest large enough to put us in position to create our own high end bowl when the next bowl cycle comes around in 2026. If we dont need to create our own bowl at that time (say we get a CFP contract bowl)--then we can distribute that money to the schools in 2026. Otherwise, we will have 16 million dollars to fund a new high end AAC Champions Bowl with the fincancial strength to keep it healthy until it becomes self sufficient and eventually profitable.

If we don’t add more basketball only schools we are going to lose Wichita State.

In all seriousness. How can a school be dropped? Wouldn't that mean they would have to be voted out? What cause could be cited for voting a school out, short of misconduct or apathy by it's administration?

$$$$

Short-and-Sweet.

You begin with "No exit fee's and we'll give you UConn's payment" and work out the severance from there. Contracts can...and are...broken.

Another point to the add no one team:

Having 11 football playing members leaves more room for Big 12 leftovers.

Imagine the coup if the PAC 12 makes it's move, and we nab WVU, TCU, and ISU

Adding Southern Miss is the ONLY hope to save the AAC. That is a FACT. Remember this and save this thread and look at it in 5 years (if the AAC board still exists then). I am being serious.
