I'm glad he pulled back but the order shouldn't have been given in the first place. It's a little unsettling that we were hours away from war with Iran over an unmanned drone that may or may not have been in international airspace.

The only positive thing I can think of this exercise was now Iran knows that Trump was very close to pulling the trigger. Perhaps this knowledge will lead Iran to take a step back.

We weren't "hours away from a war" with Iran. We were hours away from shooting some missiles as a show of force. I don't think Trump is interested in an Iraq-style war or occupation. If I turn out to be wrong, I will join in the criticism, but as of now, he has been consistent with his campaign (no repeat of Iraq, unpredictability).
