1. Memphis
2. Houston
3. Cincy
4. USF
5. UConn
6. WSU
7. Temple
8. Tulsa
9. SMU
10. UCF
11. ECU
12. Tulane

Two or three years ago, the same mag predicted the Tigers to finish dead last.

Two or three years ago that wasn't a bad prediction.

*remembers Tulane and ECU were both in the conference 2-3 years ago*

So you're saying I shouldn't put much stock in this prediction?

Seriously though, Athlon is usually pretty good. I'm sad to see WSU picked that low, and will be disappointed if it happens, but it's not unrealistic either. Lots of quality teams.

Athlon Last Year:
1. UCF
2. Houston
3. Cincinnati
4. Temple
5. Wichita State
6. UConn
7. Memphis
8. SMU
9. Tulsa
10. Tulane
11. East Carolina
12. USF

Actual:
1. Houston
2. Cincy
3. Temple
4. UCF

5. Memphis
6. WSU
7. USF
8. Tulsa
9. UConn
10. SMU
11. ECU
12. Tulane

Wrong on the actual. Temple finished 3rd ahead of UCF.

Sorry, Athlon was my source. I will fix.

College Sports Madness selects WSU #56 overall and #5 in the AAC.

I think they are seriously underestimating the Shockers. They should be ranked #1 or #2 in our conference based on returning players, recruiting class, and their admired coach.

Hard to see how WSU should be ranked in the top half of the
conference when it only averaged a little more one point
more than opponents did in conference play, and lost two
players who averaged 42.8 percent of WSU’s total points
per game.

Well for one .. Offensive PPG isn't the only factor in winning games.

Sounds like they’ll get blown out every game if they’re losing 42.8% of their points. Maybe they can find a couple other folks to take some shots, hopefully at least put five players on the court.
Otherwise it’s gonna be a season of losing every game 99-57.

Safe guess since only other 2 teams not mentioned yet are Tulane and ECU

ECU fans here have nearly convinced me they are ready for the upper tier.

Memphis team is toughest team to rank. If it’s roster
was a top HS team would anyone pick them to win AAC
championship or be invited to March Madness.
Don’t think so.

Ever heard of Kentucky or Duke? They do pretty well with mostly freshmen, every season.

Don’t think Memphis signed as many good freshman as Kentucky and Duke usually do.

Well "we" know temple doesn't.
Oh and btw we signed the #1 recruiting class so we beat out Duke and Kentucky.

Let's face it . Pesik created a alias cause he needed a intellectual debate he thought none of us could offer. And pronounced this alias as a temple fan.

Know more about Achiuwa since I’ve seen him play
a lot since 9th grade. Quinones since 11th grade.

Can see Memphis fans thinking they have a good team
based on individual player rankings, and player highlight
videos. But fans should wait until they see them play
and perform, before anointing Memphis as the best in the
AAC.

We have the #1 class over both and everybody else.
