2020 SBC commits
Haven't noticed any posts referring to 2020 Sun Belt schools football commitments. 247Sports
currently has South Alabama listed number one in the conference so far. South has announced four 3-star and five 2-star commitments to date.

Cajuns currently have only three posted commits for 2020.

Sonny Hazard, 3* DL from Jesuit HS (N.O., LA)
Kyren Lacy, 3* WR from Thibodeaux HS (Thibodeaux, LA)
Cory Marshall, 3* OL from Northwood HS (Shreveport, LA)

Hope we can keep this thread moving along to share information about 2020 recruiting only, without bragging and not have it evolve into another smack forum. There are several strong rivalries (I won't mention names) that find pleasure in running each other down and attempt to belittle the other.

Troy has some really solid players early. Chip will need to have a good to great year to keep the ball rolling in recruiting.

RE: 2020 SBC commits
I definitely wasn’t bragging. It’s way too early for that. I certainly don’t expect South to be in the top four when recruiting is over and done. Maybe if we do make the top four I would feel good about it. Oh, and childish for some you to feel jealousy already. Typical GASO followers, as was expected.

Haha. Then calls out jealousy or some nonsense to further escalate things.

All jokes aside..imo it’s always a bitter sweet thing to have recruits this early on. It’s great as a fan base to see it, but at the same time, you are stuck worrying about them being poached for 6 months. A bad game or two could spell disaster.

RE: 2020 SBC commits
Spavital is keeping Withers' Party in the Park event, which is June 22nd. We've always landed several commits at the event and the days following.

It's a day where recruits, in addition to seeing the football facilities and campus, get to spend the afternoon BBQ'ing in Sewell Park and floating the river with the coaching staff.

Spav has me worried on the recruiting front but I am giving him the benefit of the doubt for now. If no one is commits after the Party in the Park weekend, then it is a real concern.

I wonder, how much of it is Spav .. and how much of it is Withers, and by extension our culture of losing carefully cultivated over the years. And by Withers, I mean the stories you hear about how he burned a lot of bridges with high school coaches who used to point some of their kids towards San Marcos . . .

In any event, I’m of the school that winning cures many ills . . .

EW seemed to recruit pretty well. Spav losing all those commits and having none to date is not a good look to me. But bridges do need repaired.

Yeah can't put Spav's recruiting issues on Withers when Withers pulled in some decent classes, including the #1 Sun Belt class in 2017.
