RE: Who wins the East Divsion?
I would love to say Troy than App then Georgia Southern But I am not going to do that. Who gets some breaks as to injuries will win it. With that wimpy answer. I really like the East and the Belt as a whole. . Really do believe there are CUSA folks who would love to be in the conference.

RE: Who wins the East Divsion?
Of the 50 votes so far, we have 35 homer votes and 15 non-homer votes.

Non-homer voting:

App State 8
Troy 5
Georgia Southern 2

Homer voting:

App State 22
Georgia Southern 10
Troy 3

Georgia Southern 83.3% of votes are homer votes
App State 73.3% of votes are homer votes
Troy 37.5% of votes are homer votes

So what's my point? I'm not sure, but I felt like analyzing the data 03-lmfao

So I think you are inferring the fans of the three top teams all of whom won 10 or more games last season shouldn't believe in there own team. Also what the hell Troy have a little faith in yourselves!

I wasn't necessarily implying that, just having a little fun with the data. Also worth noting:

No App fans voted for GS or Troy

No Troy fans voted for App or GS

But 3 GS fans voted for Troy

As long as its contained in that thread.. I'm good with it being a bit intense. I try to stay neutral in that thread, and I think Appy folks would agree. Sure, I'll throw the occasional egg in the food fight because I love the rivalry, but I will stop to call someone out for trying to throw a chair in the cafeteria... regardless of what side they are on.

Of course I predict App will represent the East. But, there are definitely 3 contenders that can win. I'd put the SBC East up against any other G5 division.

Oh, I agree with you. I was referring more to the size of the thread than the intensity. The GS-App thread last year was fun, but man it was absolutely gigantic and there's probably not a bigger game thread on any of the other CSN boards.

There's not a lot of rivalries in the G5 with our level of "respectful hatred."

I like this. I always wonder what the numbers would look like without homer votes in these polls.

0% of GSU and CC votes were homer votes. That's a big deal.

RE: Who wins the East Divsion?
Anecdote time.

So I'm on vacation this week and I have my GS shirt on the beach and strike up a conversation with this Louisville fan. He was talking about the CWS and so I asked him if he followed UL football and he said of course.

I told him I was really glad Louisville took Scott Satterfield and before I had a chance to explain myself and he let off a chuckle and said "so you think we're getting a good one" and I tell him what a thorn in our side the guy has been for most if the last 15 years.

He mentioned watching us in overtime against UGA as well as App against Tennessee and said he was impressed with the crowd and atmosphere we had against App last year and that both schools need to be "in a better conference". Obviously a guy that knows nothing about the non-major FBS conferences, but the type of college football fan you'd like to have some tangential interest in the conference.

Unfortunately these fans are all too common.

The War On I4 easily. But give App/GS a couple more years and a bit more national coverage. 03-razz
