I'm not sure if it's enough to get a long suspension but I wouldn't be surprised if he misses 1 game as a result.

Dimel must be hitting the bottle tonight.

DWI would be one game at least. With his other charges he probably will not see the field until conference play at least, and that's if he meets the punishment that Coach Dimel will impose. If he only gets one game then I would be concerned about the program Coach Dimel is running.

Which means clt would be locked away forever if he/she ever came to Texas.

We're talking about El Paso (US border city to Juarez, Mexico). Guns are pretty common there. Perhaps you've heard about the need for a "wall" being built in El Paso?

I agree. This is serious. Sitting out one game isn't nearly enough. This makes the entire program look terrible.

You have to be 21 to have a concealed carry permit in Texas. I do not know the facts of the case, but it may be because he is not yet 21 and does not have a permit.

The wall is not to keep out guns. Gun smuggling goes north to south primarily, since Mexico has strict gun laws. Perhaps you’ve heard of Fast and Furious?

He's a 2015 high school graduate. I guess there is a chance he's still under 21 but it doesn't seem likely.

Even if you have a CWP, you are prohibited from carrying if you are under the influence. The fact he was both drunk and in possession of the firearm is likely the reason for the charge.

Per the news now he was also making terroristic threats whatever that means, it wasn't stated in the article. UTEP just can't catch a break.

We won one game with him as the starter. It’s really not the end of the world.

Exactly, maybe UTEP's performance would improve with someone else under center?
