So they've predicted:
Troy to lose to USM
App to lose to UNC (even though they predicted UNC 4-8)
UL to lose to Ohio
Ark State to lose to SMU
The SBC to be winless against the P5.

I guess any of those can happen, but the chances of all of them happening are next to nothing. Basically, they've predicted about the worst-case scenario for our non-conference record.

I'd be interested in finding out why all 3 of them chose ULM as the sleeper team

If App loses 4 games, I’ll eat my hat!

I can't argue with the logic of the order but I'd be surprised if we didn't have at least one team hit 10 wins before bowling.

Again I'm not defending the W-L predictions just the order of finish for each division. I think those guesses are as good as anyone can do before the first snap.

They have us winning the Belt with two Belt losses. Meaning they're saying were gonna drop a game to either Troy or Southern, and a game to the west (ULL? We arent playing stAte this year). And regardless of Mack Brown, UNC is too much of a rebuild right now to win our game.

Let's compare 2018 versus Athlon's 2018 predictions:

Georgia Southern 4-8 (9-3) +5

ULM 6-6 (6-6) 0
UL 6-6 (7-5) +1
South Alabama 5-7 (3-9) -2
Texas State 3-9 (3-9) 0

So by my count we won 6 more non-conference games than Athlon predicted.

We had a big turnaround last year. This year we could be better and have a worse record. Our 6 road games are:
LSU
Minnesota
South Alabama
Troy
App St
Ark St

That s a tough road schedule. If we assume we win the 6 home games then we need to win 3 of those 6 road games to get back to 9-3. That s a tall order
