Really? I was as big a critic of Mick's recruiting as anybody but I never made it racial. I just wanted basketball players with skills. Skin color shouldn't ever be a factor in evaluating a recruit.
Of course it shouldn't be a factor, but it apparently was one for Mick. Zero for 13 years, then the new coach magically signs a couple in his first month. There was something going on there...in Mick's head, that is.
Being accurate there was Adam Hrycaniuk.
Except I said "basketball players with skills". So AH clearly failed that test, although yes, he did have pale skin.
We all accept that a significant majority of good basketball players are black. That said the 12 year lack of signing any non black players was a bit strange.

We did have Nick Aldridge transfer in from Western Carolina, but then he got kicked out for drugs, so he never played a game.
If it's Cumberland.2, it can't be any worse than the last time we had two relatives on the team: Yancy Gates and his brother Anthony Mcbride.

For what it's worth, Mike Saunders - a 2020 PG - received a Crystal Ball last night from a reliable source (Brian Snow). Saunders visited over the weekend.
I just for kicks I ran a search simply on "Jaevin Cumbeland" and I found numerous articles on how badly Michigan wanted him. Saw the words "shooter" and "ideal fit" which caught my eye.

How many starting backcourts in the country can go for 10+ 3's and 40+ points on any given game? This is going to be a fun season!
Along these lines, we'll obviously have some huge shoes to fill after this year, but we've reeled in a couple guys already. And, if we have a style of play and success that I believe we'll have, bigger names will follow......

One challenge for Brannen is to find a feature player to replace Jarron C. for 2020 and beyond; that guy is probably not on the roster yet. However, it's reasonable to assume that there's a pool of uncommitted talent that likes what they are hearing from Brannen, but waiting to see the on-court product. A great season has the potential to jump start future recruiting.
2020 the ceiling likely won't be as high as it is with this team. You have a senior All American candidate coming back, along with experienced starters in Scott and Williams. Great job by Brannen to find guys that should contribute right away and take advantage of that in year 1. I think he's done a great job blending the future with what we have in place to compete at a high level right now. He can start working harder on 2020 and beyond now.

It is reported by CBS Sports' #1 CBB analyst straight from the head coach's mouth along with the #1 pay site for UC sports, Jarron's instagram, and John Goodman, so I think we're solid.

If John Goodman is reporting it, it must be true.
