Congrats. Memphis is doing a hell of a job on the recruiting trail in football.
Thanks. UConn should have taken note of Memphis' current football situation. If Memphis can engineer a turnaround, UConn is certainly better equipped to duplicate the feat.
Yep, worst team in football with way less money and resources.

From beat writer Kelly Hines at the Tulsa World:
"Aresco said TU is in talks with OU for a three-game series and also has resumed discussions with Arkansas about a deal that would include a long-awaited visit from the Razorbacks to Chapman Stadium. A TU spokesman said the Hurricane is working with Big 12 and SEC programs on home-and-home arrangements."

I was just thinking a our regular 3 game series every decade with OU was coming up. I like the idea of playing OSU 8/10 years and OU 3/10. Gives us regular games in traditional series and still some flexibility for all the schools.
Arkansas would be big and about damn time, we have rang each other up historically and it's time to just go back to home and homes. With the new Texas Rangers stadium wanting games we should talk to them about a 1-1-1 series with a neutral on SEC cupcake week in Dallas. Hell I'd give them a 1-1-2, with a game in Little Rock and Dallas.
I like the OU and OSU set ups as well. Wouldn't be opposed to doing OU in a 3 for 2 deal (5/10), but that probably wouldn't work.
Arkansas at home would be amazing. Especially if it's a true home and home and not a 2 for 1 or something. A neutral site game in Dallas would be pretty cool as well. Although I believe they already do that with aTm.

They are ending that AnM game in Dallas, that's a big ticket team for the updated stadium, same reason Little Rock is now only getting the spring game and Missouri every other year. That's why I suggested both. We are a decent draw in Arkansas (40 damn times in a row) and fans in Little Rock just want to see the Hogs play. The Rangers want more events at the new field, it's going to be smaller than Jerry World or the Cotton Bowl. Both schools have good alumni bases there and its an easy drive for both, or for either schools Houston alums.
That would give us three games with Arkansad and Oklahoma to pair with the OSU games. Make a call to Kansas or Missouri about a home and home and we are looking at a good slate of home p5 games to anchor our ooc for quite a while. Seems like Gragg got a fire lit under him somewhere lately.

Ah, didn't know they were ending the neutral site game with a&m.
Yeah, Gragg has been getting after it lately. Maybe our AD and revenue sport coaches are beginning to get things turned around. Good things have been happening off the field/court. Just need to translate all this to wins.

Norvell is bringing in the number one (per 247) JUCO WR, RB, TE and now ILB. Not sure what to think about the JUCO numbers (good or bad), but it's always good to get guys at the top of their respective positions.

I have a good bit of respect(and little hidden envy) of how Memphis has run their program since firing Porter.
Though sports writer's are bullish on Memphis this year, I'm not. Getting so many JUCO's tends aslo makes me think Norvell and co feel they need help now(i know we talking about 2020 recruits, but it still feels that way). I also know that your offesne is pretty young on the two deep, particularly the O-line. That is where I would have go the most JCs.
What do the Memphis fans think.

Did they just re-evaluate Memphis' 4-star guy? Makes me feel better that other schools are getting "the treatment".

New #USF president Steve Currall (to @mareevs) on an on-campus football stadium: "It’s a vision, there’s not a plan right now."

Currall knows what an on-campus stadium can deliver; his house was about 70 yards away from SMU’s stadium at his last job.
“So I’ve seen the value of that for building community and student spirit and connecting with alumni…” Currall told Reeves. “There’s hope, and I can see value in it.

Everything I've read points to Memphis being VERY good this year. I'll certainly be pulling for the Tigers to beat Ole Miss in the opener!
