It certainly wasn't pretty today. But the defense was good, the bats came through, and we never trailed. Can't ask for a better way to get this tournament started.

Amazing how Scalf teams always seem to rise to the occasion in this setting, regardless of where we finished in the regular season standings. Hence why we've appeared in the CAA Championship game the last 5 years in a row.

Not sure if we can pull that off again this time around but we're in the best possible position that we can be after Day 1 of the tournament. You just can't ever bet against or count out this team at this tournament.

Let's go Hawks!

Great news. I got a bit busy this afternoon at work and just catching up on the game thread. Glad to see the guys pulled it out and looks like they were ready to play today. So important not to drop that first game.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, if # 3 W&M beats # 6 JMU, we face George Kirby and the Elon Phoenix. If JMU wins, we face Charleston.

Yes, Charleston's Friday guy is tough too. Griffin McLarty (jr RHP) went 8-4 with a 2.04 ERA and hitters batted just .184 against him. But we beat him back on April 26, collecting 3 runs on 10 hits.

Tomorrow is just as big a game as today. If we lose tomorrow we gotta win 2 on friday and 2 on saturday to force a deciding game on Sunday. Since will be the lowest seed out of the winners bracket if we lose, we will have to play the NU/JMU winner in an extra game

If we lose its a rematch with the Huskies for the right to play the loser of the winners bracket game.
