ESPN Transfer Rankings
ESPN reports that over 700 players are considering a transfer this year. Pierce is ranked as the 5th highest transfer immediately available, and Milon is 35th. Audige is in the 36th among those who must sit out a year, and Owens is just outside that group of top 50 eligible to play after next season

Was the purported dysfunction so bad that the cure was to terminate Coach Shaver? We never will know what next year's team would have been under Coach Shaver, and I'm not falling prey to the "wait 'til next year" mentality. These returnees, along with Nathan Knight, would have been our best shot if they had stayed.

From all reports it seems pretty likely Pierce was gone and Knight was going to declare either way (I still think Knight comes back). Even if all other potential transfers stayed, we would have been competitive, but probably on paper third in the conference at best (pretty similar to the last few years). We can argue the longer term merits of the move all we want, but it wasn't made for next year, nor should it have been.

RE: ESPN Transfer Rankings
The CAA has Pierce, Milon, Cylla, Gresham Jr., Occeus, and Demir in the Top 50 immediately available, with Audige the only CAA player in the Top 50 who has to sit out. Terrell Allen, who scored more as a freshman at Drexel than in either of his two seasons at Central Florida, is transferring a second time.
