RE: Brooks
Is Moses Brown going pro? Brooks ate his lunch when we played them. But Brown was still a consensus 5-star prospect and it would be odd to bring in a grad transfer from Cincinnati to start over him.

No release perhaps he can use the year to work on staying out of foul trouble.

RE: Brooks
I can't find the source, but Brooks could be very well set to graduate this year. I believe in an interview Cronin talked about how "cerebral" Brooks is. I got the impression Brooks looked to Cronin as a surrogate father. Brooks may intend to follow Cronin to LA. Whether that can happen remains to be seen.

Some of these guys are going to find out how much Mick really loves them.

RE: Brooks
I like Brooks and hopes he changes his mind. However for the type of guy UCLA can attract I wouldn't want to tie up 2 years of a scholarship for 1 year of a player. Mick is loyal and may feel obligated to do it but as one of their fans I wouldn't be excited about it.

Honestly, if the man has a chance to get his degree from UCLA instead of UC...it would be well worth it in my opinion, because he's one of the 99% who go pro in something other than sports

Exactly. He could get two more free years of education at a school of his choice (give or take). I wish everyone didn't have to have a reaction or take on everything all the time. Everyone has to pretend like they know what's in the best interest of people they've never met, never spoken to. Gotta love America.

That has Mick written all over it. It also has "fired in two years" written all over it, too. We might have to deny himself in Westwood.

It's not a bad move on Mick's part to bring some ready made defensive toughness to Westwood. Quite frankly, i don't recall that UCLA team being all that great defensively. Might be good to bring a rim protector familiar with his system to anchor his defense. Not a long term commitment so no long term ramifications. We're not talking about Trevor, Nsoseme or Diarra. Depending on who you ask, Brooks is either the second or third best player on the team.

RE: Brooks
Just when Brooks finally learned how to dunk and took his game up 10 levels.

That said, I don't think he fits the new defense/offense so it won't be a big deal if he moves on. Good luck to him, he caused me more frustration than any starting player I can remember in the Cronin era outside of Quadri Moore.

I mustve missed when Quad became a starter?

Oh how we miss the BIG Q!

He led the Battle of New Orleans putting up 16 points.

I cannot remember him ever starting a game.

Apparently never played again after reportedly transferring to North East West Middle Oklahoma State Teachers and Normal College.

Evidence suggests we'll run more but there will be plenty of half court. Nku was a fairly average tempo team during his time there. This isn't going to be up and down Roy Williams basketball. I suspect Brooks would be fine under brannen.

Wouldn't you also think that Tre Scott could *potentially* fill that void at the "5" if need be, considering it appears that Brannen prefers a stretch there?

Scott should've been developed to play on wing. 4th yr JR and he was getting bullied by FR last year. No way he can be your 5 on championship team
