Brannen and Brannen
I just heard it stated on one of the sports talk shows that John Brannen is Bobby Brannen's cousin. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned here (unless I missed it.) Bobby was one of my favorite players of the Huggins era.

Bobby Brannen was a Rock Star in the Australian league. From What I heard he did very well for himself, playing down-under.

RE: Brannen and Brannen
Bobby does some semi-private lessons up in Mason and we used him with my son (now a freshman). He was a really good coach in my brief experience. Very positive, very engaged, sees everything, keeps pushing them hard.

Anyway, he and I had some side conversations about the Huggins years and also about the pros, both abroad and NBA. Interesting stuff. Bobby seems like a good guy with a good head on his shoulders.

The more I hear about CJB, the more excited I am for him to lead the Bearcats. Hope it works out as well as we all are dreaming.

I really don't know but I find it hard to believe that they are 1st cousins if this has never came out before.

It would be cool if Bobby ended up on Coach Brannen's staff someday. I'm sure he would be a great coach for our big guys.

I'm glad that's what this thread was about. I had a nagging fear that this thread title would lead to some law firm advertising spam.

The last time I saw Bobby Brannen was at a Reds game where be was double fisting some Steve-weisers and he was obviously having a good time.

He seems like a good dude and someone I'd want to help out with this program.

For those with an Athletic subscription, Justin Williams did a piece on Bobby Brannen last fall. Really good read and as a younger fan, I didn't know much about him prior to Justin's write up.

RE: Brannen and Brannen
I grew up in the St. Bernard area. Spoke to a mutual friend (of the Brannen family) tonight and he said that John Brannen and Bobby Brannen are second cousins.
