He and his coach confirmed the day that Mick left that he was still planning on reporting to UC in the summer. Also said he'd be answering no further questions in the meantime.
Sounds like nothing has changed on the first matter. He's signed a LOI so no one should be contacting him from any school.
Right, that’s what this thread was originally about though I think the comment came directly from his coach who was relaying a discussion they had about what his supposed plans were. I just don’t understand why he couldn’t answer that question.

Because they specifically told the media that they didn't want any interviews.

Seems like a strange way to say he didn’t want to do an interview. Hope it’s nothing and even if it is it’s not the end of the world depending on the new coach but I’d definitely prefer to have him than not.

If he wants out, which I hope he doesn’t, he’s out. Scott free. We’d give him his release or face major negative media fallout. That said, I’m hoping he’s just saying this, as I would, because he’s waiting to see who UC hires. Honestly, how can he be committed either way before he sees that? Hoping whomever we hire is able to keep him and our key returnees engaged and excited to continue to be Bearcats.

He is playing this smart. He wants to come to UC but the coach has to fit his game. I am sure that his goal is to play professionally and he is going to put himself in the best position to play professionally. We have to wait till after our hire to see if it fits Samari's goals. I would do the same thing.

Mack. So he’s had two coaches he’s committed to leave.

The difference is Mack was a verbal to X and Cronin was an official signing to UC, requiring we allow him out. I can't imagine the AD (and new coach) wouldn't let him out but he is officially committed to coming here.

if Brannen gets the job, I would think JC and Samari Curtis would be happy over his mindset on offense. McDonald had a great career under Brannen at NKU. If UC kept most of the returning team intact, I could see a very good team next season. The demographics might change a bit though. Might see some Iowa type shooting stars out there.

Let’s hope Brannen and Cumberland have bumped into each other in the hallways at NKU and they already have a familiarity with each other that will help convince Cumberland that he should stay.
I do think it’s in Jarron’s best interest to come back. Let’s hope he sees it the same way.
