Gary Parrish and Jon Rothstein saying it's Brannen as well. I expect if that's the case we will be getting an announcement within an hour or two as the leak has sprung. The obvious choice and the best choice.

I'm wondering if familiarity is pushing Brannen to the forefront. If NKU were plopped down in the middle of Nebraska, would we be even discussing him?

UC played great that first half, as I recall. I wouldn't give much weight to one game.

I do agree that it seems like Brannen is a candidate largely because he's just down the road. I worry, too, that Bohn might give Brannen a little plus because he might be less likely than others to leave immediately if he had a few good years. Was he a serious candidate for any other jobs?

Brannen was offer bigger jobs last offseason (slightly better leagues with a little better pay), I would assume another tournament championship and NCAA berth only increased his demand this year.

Glad it appears to be Brannen. I got a little nervous it wasn’t going to be him around Thursday night so super happy with the hire if this is true.

Now, let’s get a commitment from Jarron to stay so we can start his first year out with a good year and give him at least a year to help get his people in place.

Waiting for the official announcement before I get too excited. Thought Brannen was the best choice from fairly early on and he grew on me as things progressed. He brings the emphasis on toughness and rebounding that Cronin preached, but also is a very good offensive coach. He likes to press and I imagine he will love our teams makeup for playing some high pressure defense.

I'm in and can get behind Brannen. Sort of bitterweet though as I know as an NKU fan we lost a good coach and hope they can make a good hire to replace.

If Brannen is the choice and the hire is imminent, kudos to UC for keeping it under wraps, identifying an appropriate pool of candidates, etc. Showing what a competent AD candidate search looks like, not like that cluster at our satellite school out in LA.

Channel 9 and 19 reporters on Twitter are confirming it is Brannen.

Yup, reports are flooding in. Sounds like they just need to finish working out the details and we will get the announcement shortly.
