3x3U 2019 Tournament
The CAA is represented at the 3 on 3 tournament in Minneapolis this weekend. Last year was the first year it was hosted and this season it seems to have more hype to it, probably because they are hosting it inside the Mall of America, so it's a more public affair.

The tournament consists of 4 seniors from every conference in the NCAA competing in a 3v3 tournament for cash money, top prize being $100,000. I was excited when I heard our lineup, because we sent our best 4 seniors in the conference - JWF, Pusica, Cacock, Brantley. Other people have noticed too as I saw a tweet from one of the commentators for the tournament says the CAA are the favorites to win it all.

It got me thinking, we are probably the only conference sending 4 1st-Teamers to this thing, and it's the perfect combinations of players:
JWF - pure scorer
Pusica - playmaker with good shot
Cacock - dominant big man
Brantley - versatile big man

CAA started play with a dominating win against the Summit conference last night. As expected, JWF with a bunch of points and Cacock with a bunch of rebounds. Two more games today including one vs the Big12 in 30 minutes. It's set up like the world cup with 8 groups of 4 teams. The Big Ten and ACC look really impressive so far, but I do like our chances.

Games can be watched on twitter today @3x3UHoops and ESPN2 tomorrow for the knock out rounds. Schedule an team info at: https://www.3x3uhoops.com/

Edit - I didn't see the other thread about this, a mod can most my post there if they want

CAA sweeping through to the Final 4. JWF getting lots of love, and deservedly so with some highlight reel crossovers and dunks. Brantley and Cacock also producing to monster dunks, and Pusica hitting some big shots as well. Lots of hype about the CAA right now, they seem to be the crowd favorite.

Final Four and championship games on ESPN2 at 3pm eastern today.

JWF 64 points, Brantley 34, Pusica 29, Cacock 21.

All players had at least 20 rebounds with Cacock leading the way with 36. In the end teams couldn't handle our size and shooting ability.

Most teams went 3 guards with one big.
We had two scoring point guards with two bigger guys(Brantley being able to guard a big or guard fairly comfortably). We consistently wore teams down late with two big man lineups.

All 4 players understood the role they had when in the game. Saw this team make an extra pass a lot more than other teams. Each player in his way contributed. Played the best team ball in the tourney

They have the opportunity to keep playing and winning together too (provided it doesn't get in the way of their pro careers).

Great work by all four of them representing the best of the CAA!
