In reading the thread, it seems like everyone is questioning the scheduling rather than the ability of their coach to motivate. They claim that motivation is low against the in-state small schools while the opposing squad has it circled on their calendar. A true competitor, in a coach, would be able to fire up their squad each and every time they step onto the field.
AState holds mid-week wins over Ole Miss, just a fact of life. Weekday games produce fun results quite often. I have no idea whether LR threw a weekend pitcher or just let the chips fall, that.

From the thread linked above:
Quote:know what all those states have that arkansas doesn't ? a crap ton more people. There are legit Portland State fans that are not Oregon State fans. That does not work in AR. again that is my point you keep trying to disprove it but you are doing nothing but proving it.
Right now the UofA has 99.9% of the Arkansas fan base there is literally no going up from their current position so doing anything that might turn a UofA fan into a UALR fan is not good for the UofA.
Somebody else tells him how wrong he is farther down in the thread but wow!

No we didn't throw a weekend pitcher. I asked our coach about it and he said the conference games are what "really" matter. We did have a guy with an ERA of close to 12, pitch 5 innings of one run ball after we fell behind 6-3 (this included coming in with the base-loaded, and no outs, and not allowing a run). What's crazy is I've followed LR baseball for over 30 years and can't recall us scoring 17 runs before, or winning very many games by 10 runs.
