Tarpey and France lost the EuroBasket gold medal game to Spain, but Terry will not be having to pay for drinks or dinner out for a long time, as all of France are totally smitten with him. Will be interesting to see what professional opportunities he now gets coming off his big rise in international circles. Congrats, Terry!!

Yeah, a couple of articles have said that he will definitely have the opportunity to move up, as his play has been noticed by the proper people.

Timberwolves vs Lakers in Vegas tonight on ESPN, 10 pm.
Appears Gobert will make his first appearance, so, remains to be seen how much playing time Nate will get in their second preseason game.

Nate tonight finished with 11 pts, 3 rebs, 1 assist, and no fouls in 10 minutes of action. Aggressive and looked good/comfortable.

It looks like Knight made the final 15-man roster for the Timberwolves.

KAT sprained his calf (and was perhaps lucky not to tear an Achilles) and is out 4-6 weeks. This may open up some spot minutes for Nate, who has only played 24 minutes in the Wolves' 21 games so far.

Who could replace Towns?

The Wolves have a few options to replace him at power forward. The veteran Kyle Anderson would seem to be the logical choice given his experience, defensive versatility and playmaking.
If Finch wants a little bit more shooting, putting Naz Reid in that spot is an option. It would be nice to have Taurean Prince’s shooting and speed, but he is currently out with a shoulder injury.
If the Wolves want to get wild, they could go down to Iowa and call up Luka Garza from the G-League. Garza is tearing it up down there and is a knockdown shooter, something this team really could use.



NOTE: I didn't leave any part of this comment out. There was absolutely nothing said about using Nate as a replacement. Not a great sign.

Marcus is living the dream. Maybe not as lucrative as the NBA, but he's seeing the world and making money in the game he loves. Very envious situation. There are a lot of ex Tribe hoops players who have had great success this way. Just from Shaver's recent players we have Thornton, Van Vliet, Tarpey, Prewitt, and Cohn playing it higher leagues in Europe. I may be missing a player or two.

I really hope the Timberwolves trade Nathan Knight before NBA trade deadline. Nathan is averaging 2.7 minutes per game with 0.6 points per game, 0.7 rebounds per game and 0.3 steals per game. Nathan needs to go to a team who will give him meaningful playing time.

Yeah, his lack of usage makes you wonder why the T'wolves even bothered signing him to a "real" contract.

This is just life as the 15th man in the NBA. You are *multiple* injuries from playing in any meaningful minutes and your playing time generally is more dictated by circumstances than by active choices of the organization.

Nate is the fifth big man in the rotation behind KAT, Gobert, Naz Reid and Kyle Anderson and even then, the Wolves might use their small lineups in some circumstances. He won't be in a better position somewhere else. If he stays on the roster past the guarantee contract date next month, I think it's a great success for him.

....and a lot of money. He's doing much better than most 25 year old college grads from that regard. Follow your dream, save your money, see the world and be set financially by age 30.

With both KAT and Gobert injured, Nate slides into the backup 5 role and finishes with 10 PTS and 5 REB on 3-3 shooting in 11 minutes, which is by far his most playing time this year.

He's played in the last three games.

Only if you count garbage time in the two previous games. Last night he actually played meaningful minutes, although a -19 in 11 minutes isn't great. He had 2 bad turnovers at the end of the 3rd that let the Thunder take a lead, then didn't play again until offense/defense subs at the end. But he played pretty well in the 1st & 2nd quarters from the highlights I saw. 2 offensive rebound putbacks and 4/5 FT on the night meaning he was aggressive on offense.

He wasn't even getting garbage time before KAT hurt his calf. Any notice is what he wants at this point.

Knight played 26 minutes tonight, he has 16 points on 6/8 shooting as well as 3 assists.
