I mean, if I didn't like a coach, I would definitely wait for him to leave before announcing my desire to walk away from the program. Makes zero sense.

+1

+2 + 10,000 for all the logical Tribe Fans who aren’t on this board and don’t wake up everyday with the sole mission of defending our AD.

Serious question here- can we even field a basketball team next year? We lost three to graduation. If six leave or go pro, I think we have five players left?

I don't want Huge to be here but I love W&M too much. I'm pulling for her in a major way. Please, Samantha, prove me wrong. Embarrass me with your elite insight. Show us doubters that this is all part of your master plan.

I hope on hope something stops the bleeding and I don't care who takes credit for the remarkable turn of events. Someone, take a tourniquet out of your med bag, place it high and tight, record the time you applied it, and call 9-1-1. "Stop the bleeding and keep them breathing." We're in survival mode.

Most of my thoughts, feelings, and comments have come from a similar place. I care more about our school and program than any single person (either Shaver, who I like and really respect how he made something of the program; or Huge, who I know far less about, didn’t agree with this decision, but figure she’s smart and wants to win so probably has some good ideas behind her actions). At this point (still just 2 weeks since the news broke), Huge is our AD and Shaver is not our coach. I’m not trying to defend Huge, but I am rooting for her to show that this was a good decision in the long-run - and yes, part of my grasping at straws to process where we are right now is to look for signs that there was a good reason she made this decision.

Actually, I disagree with you here.

Those of us who remember the ‘90’s .... we’re prepared and resigned to a return.

All of you who under-appreciated Tony, and never experienced the ‘90’s, prepare to wail and gnash your teeth because we’re about to get eaten alive in this two bit conference that you think we should dominate.

Where are the adults at W&M? Such a grievous self-inflicted wound!

Knight was going to go through this process whether Tony was here or not. He was encouraged by the staff to do it.

Nathan has until May 28th to decide....while anything can happen in these terrible times with the basketball program (has it only been two weeks?) the odds are strong Knight will opt to stay here for the next year and graduate--he is not going to be a first round draft choice this year.

I've watched him shoot from NBA 3 point range in practice (during shooting drills) and he is a much better shooter than his stats reflect. His passing is much more advanced than most big men and he can run the floor. My only negative is foot work and that can be taught.

I also won't be surprised if he's to the wind regardless. He's going to make a lot of money somewhere playing this sport. I have a good friend who had a son play at Illinois a while back. 6'9" power forward with much less true skill as Nate. He played in Europe for years making between 150-250 in US Dollars. That's good coin for a young man with his head on straight. He played in the G-League too, but hung up his sneakers at age 30 with a lot of money saved.

It'd be great for us if he was, but he's not really getting a lot of press right now. ESPN doesn't have him in their top 100 (And they do have JWF and plenty of other mid major players) http://www.espn.com/nba/draft/bestavaila...ovr/page/1

Yep
