Hockey East Champions!
NU behind 3 1st period goals held on to beat rival BC 3-2 to win the Hockey East Championship!

It’s NU’s 2nd HE title in 4 years and 3rd overall.

Goalie Cayden Primeau was named MVP of the Hockey East Tournament.

NU has won a team record 27 games (27-10-1). They will wait to see who they play in the NCAA Tournament Selection Show.

RE: Hockey East Champions!
Amazing job, and amazing season after we lost so much scoring from the season before. Beyond my expectations!

I have a feeling we might get a rematch of 2009 vs. Cornell in another #2 v #3 battle. Would be nice to have something in the northeast.

I’m hoping we play in Providence or Manchester, NH.

This was supposed to be a “rebuilding” season after losing Gaudette, Sikura and Stevens ... and we won 27 games!

1st time since my freshman year of 1988 we won both the Beanpot and HE title in the same season!

Sweetness!

RE: Hockey East Champions!
I noticed a subtle change in the tone of the announcers, too. It was different than during the beanpot. I sensed more respect for what the more recent NU team is accomplishing although one of them (the one with the whiney voice) felt compelled to note, a couple of times, how many championships BC had compared to us. And I loved it when one of them (not the whiney one) afterwards stated the obvious.....that NU this year is the best hockey program in Boston.

Yeah it was Billy Jaffa who made the comment about NU being the best team in Boston.
