I like our chances better than against Mississippi State but still a long shot. But why not us?

The pre-season exhibition game with VT will benefit LU. With VT not being as big and as imposing inside as MSU, we can expect Scottie to rebound with a strong game.

This game was winnable. Those shooting droughts did them in.

First of all, great season by our Flames! We had a historic season that can be duplicated and even improved for next year.

Yes, we had our moments against Virginia Tech that we'd love to have back. I'm not saying we should have won (and I don't think you are either) but it hurts to wonder what could have been. Kudos to the Hokies.

As great as this season was, I hope we further ourselves next season. We have such an opportunity that could be the foundation to take our entire athletic program to the next level. Imagine winning a bowl game next year, making the Sweet Sixteen, and more. Other conferences would have to take notice and we'd be on the radar. Take care of business on the court, field, and ice. Us fans need to keep supporting.

Rumors have Virginia Tech losing their coach to Texas if available or perhaps Texas A&M if they target him and really open the moneybags. After tonight's performance, VT could look at McKay and decide that he'd be great to lead their program. McKay took Liberty to the next level with an NCAA tournament win and will get noticed.

RE: 4) Virginia Tech vs 12) Liberty
While I think MS State had more talent than Tech, Tech was clearly the better team. While we could have beaten Tech, they and MS State both exposed our weakness this season. That being that we need to have more big guys who are playing regularly. Granted we have MBB, and he worked great against MS State, he wasn't enough against Tech. Both opponents took James out of his game mentally- which happens to all players occasionally, but we didn't have another big guy or two to help control the paint. If we had another decent big guy, we probably beat Tech.

Some of the guys at ASOR, say we'll be better with big guys next year, and I hope so. Hopefully, we can get Newton going some too. I thought he looked pretty good against UNF, when he got some decent minutes towards the end of the first half. I think that the combination of James, MBB, Newton, and some of red shirts and new freshman, we'll do even better next year.

On top of that, we need to lock down McKay for the rest of his career. I think he can be legendary at LU, like Carey Green, but hopefully with better post-season success.

There are occasional talks about Liberty moving into another conference such as the A10, AAC, or Big East. The A10 had 2 bids and were both out in the first round. The Big East had 4 bids and only one made it to the round of 32. No teams in the Sweet 16.

Where are these that you speak of. When I mentioned this, some folks call me crazy and a kool aid drinker lol. It’s takes time, but I don’t think that we need to wait a decade or two like some people have mentioned.

For clarification, I mean talk between fans. Here are some threads related to the topic.

I’m very much in the corner that thinks the A-10 in the next 5-10 years should be the realistic goal. If football becomes really good then the AAC would be the preferred destination.

His place was searched on the 21st and was the summoned on Tuesday(after the game). Did Virginia Tech not know of this?

Well, the article clearly states what happened. The search of his apratment occurred via seach warrant on the 20th while he and the team were in San Jose. The weed was probably found in his room and whomever was in the apartment may have said it was his. The Officer had detected an odor the night before, but whomever was in the apartment smoking weed, didn't answer the door. So the Officer returned the next night with a search warrant. So the search and charge are legitimate. However, he has a very good defense since he was across the country when she the search took place. So Tech wouldn't have known about the search, and Blacksburg PD is under no obligation to notify Tech of any action they take.
