Funny Bewitched analogy. Huge really doesn’t look much like Elizabeth Montgomery or Nicole Kidman though.

I would argue that the obvious thing is that these kids are keeping their options open in case the next coach can't keep it together. Smart move by smart kids.
This is accurate. Huge jumped the broom, she took an ill-advised decision, the players are spooked and want options, and now Huge is scrambling to find a way out of the nightmare. She does not hold the cards...she is hoping against hope that something will turn in a favorable direction but make no mistake, we are rudderless and that's the horizon at our 12 o'clock.

I think scrambling and hoping is not an accurate description of her state of mind. No player has actually left yet, so while I don't think we can bank on any or all of the eligible transfers to stay, at this time she's just under more pressure to hire the right coach. Desperation would be public pleas to the players for time or something of that nature. No news is okay at this point.

We need a fan’s portal.

We’re done, pending knowledge of who the new coach is.

I mean I'll be here. Even if Huge can't find anyone and has to appoint herself AD-Coach

Waiting to see which Virginia school goes farthest in the tournament before deciding on entering my name in the fan's portal or not. I don't necessarily want to leave, but need to keep my options open.

I'm curious if any of our players follow Tony to Elon.

Are you saying that next year’s Elon team will be the “true” William and Mary team next year?

How many ways can this bite us if this goes sideways? And if it does, who picks up the pieces?

I think you are about ten years or so too young for this analogy for be meaningful to you but I have thought about it a lot in the recent days.

When George Allen came to the Skins he won a lot and got them to a Super Bowl. In doing so, he pushed aside a QB who had been the mainstay of the team (Jurgensen) for a journeyman (Kilmer). A lot of us thought that had he stuck with Jurgensen he would have been a lot more successful. In those days, DC was split into two camps: Sonny vs. Billy.

W&M may win more in the future as a result of the last 10 days. And a lot of us will always wonder if we needed to jettison our mainstay to do so.

Okay, I'll play.

I feel like a mid1990s - early 2000's Redskins fan who is watching his team dump way too much money for a big name in rapid decline. That just after the best coach in history turned his keys in. 20-25 years ago...how have the skins been since then?

Comparing Shaver to Abraham Lincoln was one thing, but Joe Gibbs? Let's not be sacrilegious.

No, Huge is Bruce Allen. That's the perfect comparison.

Didn't Billy originally get put in because Sonny got hurt? Not real bad but enough to miss a few games? Unfortunately for Sonny, Billy played well during those few games, IIRC.

The acronym LOL is overused -- but in this case I did laugh out loud!
